Course objectives:

 Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:

1-      Recognize and know  what “plant tissue cultures” is

2-      Know how to establish and design a proper TC lab with the equipments and supplies needed.

3-      Prepare different formulas of media used for culture, and know which one is the best for target species.

4-      Get aware of the sterile techniques and importance of cleanness of each step and stage of micropropagation.

5-      Describe the main stages of plant tissue culture, including how to prepare the explant, manipulate the cultures and hardening off.

6-      Recommend the best explant, medium and hormones used for propagation of selected plants.
