From 1990-1996: worked as Lecturer in Bot.Dept.Faculty of Science,Assiut University,Egypt.

From 1996-2003: worked as Assistant Professor in Bot.Dept,Faculty of Science,Assiut University,Egypt.

Since November 2003 until now: Professor in Microbiology,Bot.Dept,Fac.Sci.,Assiut University ,Egypt.

Academic Experience

1-     Teaching: under-graduate and post-graduate students, general botany, general microbiology, mycology, physiology of microbiology, applied biotechnology, environmental microbiology, microbial toxins and microbial metabolism.

2-     Research fields: fungi (isolation & identification), mycotoxins (isolation & identification), pollution of different foods and feeds by fungi and mycotoxins, factors affecting microbial growth as well as bioproduction of important microbial products such as: baker yeast, alcohol, organic acids (vinegar, citric, lactic, itaconic, ….), antibiotic, lovastation, cyclosporium, ergot alkaloids and other on semi-industrial and industrial scale with the regulation of these production . I have more than 60 scientific papers in all these fields.

3-     Supervising on: 10 M.Sc. and Ph.D. thesis in the field of taxonomy & physiology of fungi, mycotoxins, pollution, control of mycoflora and mycotoxins in foods & feeds as well as biotechnology for bio-production of some valuable compounds.
