The mission of the Food Science and Technology department as a part of the Faculty of Agriculture, Assiut University, is to provide high-quality education and training for the preparation of qualified graduates and researchers to meet the requirements of the labor market.
The department supports the implementation of the scientific and applied research in the field of food science and nutrition.
Contribution to the community service and environmental development is an integral part of the department mission.
In addition, the production of some food products, provision of excellent training courses and technical consultations, and the application of expertise in the field of food science and technology are expected to contribute to the well-fare of the of general population.
Food Science and Technology department aims to reach excellence and accreditation in the field of agricultural education and scientific research at the national, regional and international levels.
This can be achieved through a commitment to the criteria of quality and development in the field of education, scientific research, production units, training and constructive cooperation with local communities, and scientific institutions to reach sustainable development of human and natural resources.
