Our research group conducts research in a number of basic and applied areas. Research topics include Computer Vision, Image Processing and Pattern Recognition. The main goal of our research is to infer properties of the observed world from an image or a collection of images. Our work combines a range of mathematical domains including statistical inference, differential geometry, and optimization techniques. We have worked on different applications:
• Segmenting different imaging modalities (photographs, remotely sensed images, medical images e.g., CT and MRI, etc.),
• Stereo, motion and video analysis,
• Shape analysis, and
• Object recognition.
