Rules and Regulations Governing Library
Use

The
regulations cover the use of materials and facilities, the
prohibition of inappropriate activities and the penalties for
infringement. These regulation have been approved by the
vice-president of Assiut University and have the support of the
University high administration. They are subject to review from time
to time.
1-
Users must conduct themselves in a satisfactory
manner when using the library. Disorderly conduct or offensive behavior
is not permitted in the library. Noise should be kept to a minimum so
that users are not disturbed. Silence is required in designated quiet
study areas.
2-
Mobile phones must be switched off on entering
the library. Users must not deface or otherwise damage books, equipment,
furniture, or other items of library property.
3-
Food and drink may not be brought into the
library and smoking is forbidden throughout the library.
4-
A quiet environment must be preserved in all
reading areas of the library and loud conversation is forbidden.
5-
Users must not deliberately mis-shelve or
otherwise conceal materials with the intention of depriving other
library users. All items to be reshelved must be placed on the reading
tables for the attention of library staff.
6-
Users are required to leave cases, bags and
backpacks and any reading materials at the entrance desk.
7-
Photocopying: All photocopying and scanning must
be carried out by library staff. Readers must obey the law of copyright
( see notices displayed beside the machines )
8-
All students leaving the library with papers in
their possession must show them to a member of the library staff on
request.
9-
All books and reading materials in the "
university Student Library " may not be borrowed.
10-
The use of personal radios, cassette and CD
players is not permitted in the library.
11-
The use of laptops in libraries is permitted in
designated laptop Zones where these exist, provided they are not a
nuisance to other users.
12-
Filming, videotaping and audio-taping in the
library are not allowed without the permission the University
Administration.
