Assiut University participates in a meeting with representatives of the AmidEast, Dream Foundation and the University of Montana of The United States of America as part of the Center for People with Special Needs project

Prof. Tarek El-Jammal, President of Assiut University, stressed the support and care of its students with special needs and launched last year an initiative aimed at declaring Assiut University a friendly university of students of special needs, which comes in line with the state strategy and the keenness of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi. The President of the Republic to provide all means of support and care for people with disabilities in all its forms.
Prof. Tarek pointed out that as part of these endeavors, the university witnessed a number of measures that will integrate students with their peers and create a university environment for them in an optimal way to facilitate their movement and movements, revealing that the university's first center is being equipped to care for those with abilities and needs. Special as well as the establishment of the first laboratory in the republic specialized for tests with hearing and visual disabilities.
In this context, prof. Shehata Gharib, Vice President of Education and Students Affairs, revealed his participation in an extended meeting with Ms. Quinsi Dermody, Director of the Project for The Grants of Public Universities at the Amideast, in the presence of Dr. Mohammed Hussein Musa, Director of the Center for Special Needs of the University and his Deputy Dr. Doaa Mustafa, who also included representatives of The Dream Foundation for Education, Training and Consultancy, are the partners in the establishment of the university's disability center, as well as in the presence of representatives from the universities of Cairo, Alexandria, Mansoura and Ain Shams.
Prof. Shehata Ghraib announced that during the meeting an online meeting was held via video conference with specialists at the University of Montana, which is one of the most important American universities, which succeeded in achieving remarkable success in supporting and caring for students with disabilities through its advanced center in that field. He pointed out that during the extended meeting, a visit was arranged for representatives of five Egyptian universities to the United States of America from September 9 to September 20, at the expense of The Imidist, in order to learn about the university of Montana's successful experience in that field and to use it in the processing and work Center for people with disabilities at Assiut University and Egyptian universities partnering in the project.
