  Project location:  Nursery of ornamental plant, Faculty of

                                     Agriculture, Assiut university.

  Targets and Achievements of projects:

·        Producing most of different kinds of ornamental plants and cut flowers needed for university staff, local market and some adjacent areas.

·        Achieving a relatively high productivity from a limited cultivated area, according high profits for the university farm.

·        Introducing the imported and valuable kinds of ornamental plant for consumers and students in Upper Egypt.

·        Giving technical consultations related to production of ornamental pants and landscape gardening.

  Future expectation

The unit wishes to

·        Increasing the cultivated area and improving the production quantitatively and qualitatively.

·        Establish a modern controlled greenhouse for new methods of propagation production of plants all the year round and research works.

·        Providing the department with new varieties for research requirements.
