Faculty of Agriculture:

The faculty has implemented one of the modern educational systems that relies on practical practices to solve problems. Therefore, it has taken the initiative to train students from the Department of Rural Community and Agricultural Extension on real-world issues, using modern scientific methods to find suitable solutions.

A dedicated greenhouse was established for students, where they cultivate environmentally friendly plants and trees. Under the scientific supervision of the university and faculty, students plant these species based on previously identified environmental needs. Following the success of this activity, a new greenhouse was created for ornamental, medicinal, and aromatic plants to preserve rare species of plants and trees.

Examples of some educational programs offered in the Faculty of Agriculture

The Agriculture Faculty provides programs focused on soil and water management, irrigation practices, and conservation.

 Course Aim

Code

Course

The course aims to provide students with knowledge, concepts, and both intellectual and professional skills related to the mineral and organic composition of soil, the various chemical processes occurring within it, and the influence of soil properties on these processes. It also covers the study of the behavior of certain elements and inorganic pollutants in soil

Soil 2103

Soil Chemistry

Graduates should be able to understand how to treat wastewater using various treatment techniques and how to reuse treated wastewater for irrigation purposes

Soil 2128

Reuse of Wastewater in Agriculture

The course aims to equip students with knowledge, concepts, and intellectual and professional skills that enable them to identify different types of pollutants and sources of soil and water contamination, study the properties and behavior of various pollutants, and develop the ability to manage and treat them, as well as understand the standards for reusing wastewater in agriculture

Workshops Organization:

Departments like Botany, Zoology, and Entomology within the Faculty of Science, along with the Faculty of Agriculture, regularly organize workshops, field studies, and training sessions to educate communities about biodiversity, sustainable land use, and ecosystem protection.

Second International Conference on Biological Sciences (February 2025):

With participation from 140 researchers from Egypt and abroad, the university organized a conference titled “Innovative Solutions in Biology for a Sustainable Future”, focusing on biodiversity loss, sustainable agriculture, and ecosystem protection.
