In line with the presidential directives supporting the development of the higher education system, and in accordance with the national strategy for the transition to 'outcome-based education,' which aims to prepare graduates with competitive skills that meet the demands of the rapidly changing job market, Professor Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, announced his official approval of the selection of Dr. Magdy Alwan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, to join the Supreme Executive Committee at the university, based on the recommendation of the Supreme Council of Universities. This strategic step aims to enhance the quality of the educational process and link university education outcomes with the evolving needs of the labor market.
According to the council's decision, the new committee is specifically responsible for the overall supervision of implementing the outcomes of the Higher Committee for Universities' reports, as well as monitoring the approved developmental and strategic plans within the university, ensuring they align with national and international standards of quality and academic accreditation. It's worth mentioning that the executive committee's tasks include preparing comprehensive reviews and periodic reports every five years for the offered study programs, aiming to continuously develop them, update their scientific content, and integrate the practical and technical skills that graduates need in the real work environment. In a statement, the Dean of the College of Arts noted that this step is part of the university's vision to shift towards 'outcome-based education,' emphasizing that the periodic reports will rely on precise performance indicators and field studies of the labor market to ensure the graduation of capable and innovative staff. The executive committee is preparing to hold its inaugural meeting in the coming weeks to set the timeline and working mechanisms, and to start listing the study programs targeted for review and development in its first phase.
