Assiut University organized a forum to empower students with disabilities in alignment with international academic standards, aiming to promote inclusive education and support students with disabilities academically and professionally in accordance with global criteria.
During his address at the forum, Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, emphasized the university’s commitment to providing an inclusive educational environment that meets international academic standards, thereby enabling students with disabilities to achieve their academic and professional aspirations.
The event, held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, was attended by Major General Dr. Hesham Abu El-Nasr, Governor of Assiut, along with several academic and executive leaders. It featured the announcement of the exemption of students with disabilities from tuition fees and university housing charges, in addition to the allocation of two postgraduate scholarships for outstanding students in this category to support their academic journey.
Professor El-Minshawy praised the efforts of the University’s Center for Students with Disabilities, highlighting its achievements in university-level competitions. He noted that Assiut University was among the first Egyptian universities to establish a specialized center for supporting students with disabilities, reflecting its ongoing commitment to empowering them and enhancing their participation in university life.
