Assiut University is intensifying its efforts to support sustainable development through a comprehensive training plan launched by the Center for Sustainable Development. The initiative aims to qualify professionals across various fields in alignment with the principles of sustainable development and Egypt’s Vision 2030, while fostering local and international partnerships to achieve inclusive development.
In line with the university’s strategy to promote sustainability concepts, the Center for Sustainable Development has proposed an integrated framework for a series of upcoming training courses designed to enhance the capacities of both university personnel and the wider community in accordance with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, emphasized that the Center serves as a key pillar in supporting sustainable development both locally and internationally. He highlighted the university’s commitment to forging international collaborations aimed at exchanging expertise and implementing projects that improve quality of life and support the green economy.
The statements were made during a meeting chaired by Professor Mahmoud Abdel-Aleem, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and attended by Professor Saleh Mahmoud Ismail, Director of the Center. The meeting discussed the Center’s action plan, which encompasses the implementation of training courses, documentation of sustainable activities, organization of events and workshops, and launching of student initiatives to promote environmental and societal awareness.
Attendees stressed the importance of coordination between the university’s faculties and the Center for Sustainable Development to effectively achieve sustainability goals, as well as the role of international cooperation in drawing on global expertise in environmental, economic, and social domains.
