Professor El-Minshawy Praises Health Awareness Day at Badr University within Regional University Collaboration under the National Higher Education Strategy

Assiut University participated in the Health Awareness Day organized by Badr University, delivering an awareness lecture titled “Diseases of Malnutrition and Smoking” aimed at promoting health awareness among university students and the wider academic community, and highlighting the risks of malnutrition and smoking on individual health and quality of life.

Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, praised the Health Awareness Day, emphasizing that the university’s participation reflects ongoing cooperation between regional universities to enhance health awareness and implement the National Higher Education Strategy in support of sustainable development goals.

The lecture, presented by Dr. Medhat El-Araby, Professor of Public Health and Community Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, focused on the impact of malnutrition and smoking on public health, the importance of therapeutic nutrition, and prevention of chronic diseases. Additionally, a comprehensive medical screening was conducted for students to assess obesity, hemoglobin levels, and blood sugar, with the aim of fostering a healthy lifestyle within the university community.
