The second annual conference on infection prevention and control at Assiut University Hospitals—convened under the theme Strategies for a Sustainable Infection-Free Future—brings together physicians, pharmacists, nursing teams, and hospital staff from both university and Ministry of Health facilities to:
- Debate cutting-edge protocols and practices in infection control while elevating standards of patient care.
- Heighten professional awareness of infection-prevention policies and GAHAR accreditation benchmarks.
- Sharpen workforce skills in antimicrobial stewardship and containment of infectious outbreaks.
Organized by the University Hospitals’ Infection Control Department, the event unfolded under the patronage of Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, University President, with oversight from Professor Alaa Attia, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Professor Asmaa El-Derwy, Director of Infection Control and Conference Chair.
The conference featured a series of in-depth scientific lectures and specialized workshops, delivered by an elite cohort of professors and experts from universities across Egypt. Discussions honed in on robust antimicrobial stewardship frameworks and internationally benchmarked infection-prevention protocols.
The event also paused to honor several university leaders and participating physicians, acknowledging their outstanding contributions to the institution’s drive for a secure and enduring healthcare landscape.
