Assiut University President Attends the Consecration Ceremony of Bishop “Bisanti” and Stresses on the Keenness of the University Administration to establish Close and Cooperative Relations with the Figures and Symbols of the Islamic and Christian Religion

Dr. Tarek El Gamal, Assiut University President, stressed on the keenness of the university administration to establish close and cooperative relations with the figures and symbols of the Islamic and Christian religions in order to achieve the university’s mission throughout its long history of promoting community engagement, working to reinforce the values of citizenship, equality, freedom of thought and belief, and emphasizing the value of science, generosity and united efforts for the country's progress and renaissance.
Dr. Al Gamal delivered the former speech during his participation yesterday evening in the ceremony of consecrating Bishop "Basanti" as Bishop of the parish of Abnub, Al-Fath, New Assiut and of Marmina Monastery, in succession to the deceased Bishop Lucas, at the Archbishop of New Assiut. The ceremony was held in the presence of Major General Essam Saad, Governor of Assiut; Major General Staff Moheb Habshi, Commander of the Southern Military Region; Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Malik, Vice President of Al-Azhar University in Upper Egypt; Dr. Mansour Al-Kabash, President of Sphinx University in New Assiut; a crowd of executive, security and popular leaders; and some figures of Al Awqaf and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in Assiut. 
Dr. Tarek El-Gamal, President of Assiut University, stated that he headed a university delegation in the ceremony which includes Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Wagdy Refaat Nakhla, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, Dr. Madiha Darwish, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Wadea Maximus, former Dean of the Faculty of Education, Dr. Mustafa Al-Saeed, full-time Professor of Children's Department of the Faculty of Medicine, and Professor Tahir Hassan, Head of the Central Administration of the University President's Office.
