The Urology Department at Assiut University Organizes its Eighth Conference on the Latest Technologies in Urological Surgery

The Department of Urology and Andrology at the Faculty of Medicine, Assiut University, organized its eighth conference, which aimed to highlight the latest surgical techniques and treatment solutions in the field of urological surgery. The conference was held under the auspices of Professor Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of the University; Professor Dr. Alaa Attia, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals; Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Basset Khalaf; Professor Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Shalaby, Honorary President of the Conference; Professor Dr. Yasser Abdel-Salam, Head of the Department of Urology and Andrology and President of the Conference; Professor Dr. Medhat El-Hawary, Conference Secretary; Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdullah El-Gamal, Conference Treasurer; and Professor Dr. Mahmoud Shalaby, Conference Coordinator.

The conference was attended by Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs; Professor Dr. Hassan Abdel-Latif, Professor of Urology; and Professor Dr. Nasr El-Din Abdel-Aal, Head of the Urology Department at Sinland Hospital, Germany, along with a number of academics, physicians, and specialists in the field of urology and andrology.

Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla emphasized the importance of the scientific topics addressed at the conference and their role in supporting the quality of medical and educational services and keeping pace with the latest developments in various medical specialties. He also praised the remarkable progress witnessed at the Urology and Andrology Hospital on both the academic and clinical levels, which strengthens its position as one of the leading specialized medical institutions in Upper Egypt.

Professor Yasser Abdel Salam noted that the conference's scientific program included nine diverse surgical procedures broadcast live to participants for educational and training purposes. These procedures included kidney stone removal using a nephroscope and a flexible laser ureteroscope, prostate enlargement surgeries using laser and vaporization techniques, and urinary incontinence surgeries using laparoscopic surgery. He added that all scientific sessions and surgical procedures were broadcast live, allowing physicians and researchers to learn about the latest surgical techniques and methods, and fostering the exchange of scientific and practical expertise among participants.
