The President of Assiut University announces the formation of an executive committee to review academic programs, link them to the needs of the labor market, and enhance the employability of graduates Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University,

responsible for conducting a comprehensive review of academic programs

This aligns with labor market needs and enhances graduate employability, in accordance with the recommendations of the Supreme Council of Universities to develop educational programs that keep pace with the rapid changes in the labor market at the local, regional, and international levels.

Dr. Al-Minshawi explained that the formation of the committee stems from the university's commitment to developing its academic and institutional framework. This involves evaluating the suitability of the university's various colleges' academic programs to labor market needs, updating existing programs, and introducing new ones that align with future jobs. This contributes to producing qualified and competitive graduates.

The university president added that the committee oversees the implementation of the Supreme Committee's reports and approved plans within the university. It also coordinates with various internal and external sectors and relevant entities to achieve strategic objectives. Furthermore, the committee prepares comprehensive periodic reviews and reports—at least every five years—of the academic programs to ensure their continued alignment with scientific advancements and labor market demands.

Dr. Al-Minshawi pointed out that the committee is also responsible for developing an annual Graduate Employability Index at the program level. This index includes activating the role of graduate units, measuring graduate employment rates within one year of graduation, assessing the alignment of jobs with academic specializations, and evaluating graduates' skills with employers. The committee also undertakes other tasks assigned by the Higher Committee, and may consult with experts and specialists. Furthermore, it prepares periodic reports on its activities for presentation to the University Council.

The committee is chaired by Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, and includes the following members: Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Alaa Attia, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Dr. Doueib Saber, Dean of the Faculty of Law; Dr. Tayseer Hassan Abdel-Hamid, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information; Dr. Khaled Salah, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Dr. Fatima Roshdy, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing; Dr. Magdy Alwan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts; Dr. Alaa Abdel-Hafez, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Commerce; Dr. Essam Fadl Abu-Zeid, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Amani Mohamed Sherif, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Mr. Hatem Khodeir, Director General of the General Administration for Education and Student Affairs.
