جامعة أسيوط تستعد لإطلاق مسابقة "أفضل كلية صديقة للبيئة" لعام 2024/2025
تستعد جامعة أسيوط، برعاية الدكتور أحمد المنشاوي، رئيس الجامعة، لإطلاق مسابقة "أفضل كلية صديقة للبيئة" لعام 2024/2025، تحت إشراف الدكتور محمود عبد العليم، نائب رئيس الجامعة لشئون خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة، وذلك في إطار جهودها لتعزيز الوعي البيئي وتحقيق الاستدامة داخل الحرم الجامعي.
جاء ذلك خلال اجتماع قطاع شئون خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة بجامعة أسيوط، الذي انعقد بحضور أعضاء المجلس، لمناقشة استعدادات الكليات للمشاركة في المسابقة، والآليات المقترحة لضمان تطبيق معايير الاستدامة البيئية.
وأكد الدكتور أحمد المنشاوي أن الجامعة تواصل دورها الريادي في خدمة المجتمع، وتسعى لتحقيق التكامل بين التعليم والبحث العلمي وخدمة المجتمع، من خلال إطلاق مبادرات ومشروعات تهدف إلى تنمية البيئة المحيطة ودعم أهداف التنمية المستدامة ورؤية مصر 2030.
وأوضح الدكتور محمود عبد العليم أن مسابقة "أفضل كلية صديقة للبيئة"، المقرر انطلاقها في 20 مايو، تعتمد على مجموعة من المعايير البيئية العالمية، تشمل إدارة الموارد المائية، بيئة العمل، الطاقة والتغير المناخي، إدارة المخلفات، النقل، وتأثير الكلية في مجالات التعليم والبحث العلمي.
وأشار نائب رئيس الجامعة إلى أن هذه المسابقة تهدف إلى تشجيع الكليات على تبني ممارسات صديقة للبيئة وتعزيز البنية التحتية المستدامة، بما يسهم في نشر ثقافة الاستدامة بين الطلاب وأعضاء هيئة التدريس.
وخلال الاجتماع، ناقش المجلس استعراض وزارة التخطيط والتنمية الاقتصادية والتعاون الدولي لجائزة مصر للتميز الحكومي، مع التوصية بتشكيل وحدة إدارية لمتابعة ملف الجائزة بجامعة أسيوط.
كما تناول المجلس تفعيل المنصة الإلكترونية لقطاع خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة، وتنظيم قوافل توعوية حول الجرائم الإلكترونية والاستخدام الآمن للإنترنت، ودراسة آليات تعزيز مشاركة الجامعة في المبادرة الوطنية "تحالف وتنمية".

Assiut University, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the university, is preparing to launch the "best eco-friendly college" competition for the year 2024/2025, under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim, vice president for community service and environmental development, as part of its efforts to promote environmental awareness and achieve sustainability on campus.
This came during the meeting of the community service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector at Assiut University, which was held in the presence of council members, to discuss the colleges ' preparations to participate in the competition, and the proposed mechanisms to ensure the application of environmental sustainability standards.
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that the university continues its leading role in community service, and seeks to achieve integration between education, scientific research and community service, through launching initiatives and projects aimed at developing the surrounding environment and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals and Egypt's Vision 2030.
Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim explained that the "best eco-friendly college" competition, scheduled to be launched on May 20, depends on a set of global environmental standards, including water resources management, work environment, energy and climate change, Waste Management, Transportation, and the impact of the College in the fields of education and scientific research.
The vice president of the University pointed out that this competition aims to encourage colleges to adopt environmentally friendly practices and promote sustainable infrastructure, which contributes to spreading a culture of sustainability among students and faculty members.
During the meeting, the council discussed the review by the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development and international cooperation of the Egypt award for governmental excellence, with the recommendation to form an administrative unit to follow up the award file at Assiut University.
The council also discussed the activation of the electronic platform for the community service sector and environmental development, organizing awareness convoys on cybercrime and the safe use of the internet, and studying mechanisms to enhance the University's participation in the national initiative "Alliance and development".
