Assiut University commemorates World Water Day, emphasizing the need to raise awareness of water sustainability in order to promote the responsible preservation of water resources and to highlight the role of scientific research and innovation in achieving water security amid climate change challenges.

 Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, expressed his appreciation for the significance of World Water Day, observed annually on March 22. He stressed the importance of international cooperation in addressing global water security challenges. He also praised Egypt’s efforts in water resource management through strategies focused on rationalization, desalination, wastewater treatment, and regional and international collaboration to ensure sustainable resource use.

 Professor El-Minshawy affirmed that scientific research and innovation are fundamental pillars in achieving water sustainability. He noted that Assiut University is committed to supporting applied studies in fields such as water desalination, reuse, and consumption rationalization, thereby fostering a culture of responsible water use and securing a sustainable water future for coming generations.
