Inauguration of the Laboratories Building and the Western Terraces Building within the First Phase... Completion of the remaining phases of the project
Professor El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, inaugurated today, Thursday, July 30, the first phase of the Faculty of Early Childhood Education Headquarters project at the university's campus in New Assiut, which included the opening of the laboratories building and the western terrace building, within the framework of the university's plan to expand its educational facilities, support its infrastructure, and prepare for the new academic year, in a way that contributes to providing a modern educational environment that keeps pace with the latest academic standards.
The opening was attended by Dr. Mohamed Sayed, President of Assiut National University, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Adawi, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Nobi Mohamed Hassan, Vice President of Assiut National University for Academic Affairs, Dr. Reham El-Meligy, Dean of the Faculty of Education for Early Childhood, and Dr. Shehata El-Dabaa, Engineering Advisor to the President of the University.
Professor El-Menshawy explained that the university continues to implement its development plans aimed at establishing and modernizing educational facilities to meet the needs of the educational and research process, and provide students and faculty members with an integrated university environment with the latest capabilities and equipment, pointing out that the opening of the first phase of the project represents an important step towards completing the system of educational facilities at the university's campus in the new city of Assiut.
The President of the University added that the project comes within the framework of the university's vision aimed at supporting the quality of university education and enhancing the readiness of colleges to receive students, stressing the continuation of work to complete the remaining stages of the project according to the specified timetables.
The laboratories building includes the office of the dean of the college, the offices of department heads and faculty members, the faculty council hall, discussion rooms, classrooms, in addition to educational laboratories equipped with the latest means to serve the educational and training process.
The Western Terraces building also includes three classrooms with a capacity of 300 students, and is equipped with the latest acoustics and lighting systems to provide a suitable learning environment for students.
Following the inauguration, Professor El-Menshawy inspected the various facilities of the two buildings and was briefed on the works of fittings, furnishings, and safety equipment, praising the quality of the implementation and the accuracy of the engineering works, and the completion rates achieved, stressing the need to continue working with the same efficiency to complete the rest of the project's phases.
The President of the University also expressed his appreciation to all the engineers, consultants, and workers who participated in the implementation of the project, appreciating their sincere efforts and continuous work until the first phase came out with this distinguished level of quality and mastery.
For her part, Dr. Reham El-Meligy, Dean of the Faculty of Education for Early Childhood, expressed her sincere thanks and appreciation to Professor El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, for his continuous support to the faculty and his keenness to provide an advanced educational environment, stressing that the opening of the first phase of the new headquarters represents a qualitative leap in the faculty's march, and contributes to enhancing its readiness to receive students and improve the educational process.
It is worth mentioning that the building of the Faculty of Early Childhood Education at the campus of Assiut University in New Assiut City is built on an area of 3500 square meters, and consists of four buildings, including: the laboratories building, the eastern terraces building, the western terraces building, and the educational building.
The inauguration was attended by Dr. Manal Anwar, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Wafa Maher, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Ghada Sweifi, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Yara Ibrahim, former Dean of the College, Eng. Mohamed Thabet, Director General of the Engineering Affairs Department, a group of professors, heads of departments, and members of the administrative staff at the college, Eng. Ahmed Abdel Fattah, Branch Manager of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Ihab Abu Kreisha, Deputy Director of the Branch, and several engineers and supervisors of the Department. Engineering Constructions at the University, the Arab Contractors Company, and a number of university leaders.
