Towards a life without drugs

Under the patronage of Dr. Nevin Al-Qabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, 
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Minshawy, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawla,
 Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Omar Othman,
Director General of the Addiction Control and Treatment Fund.
The College of Law was organized under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Dwaib Hussein Saber, 
Dean of the College and Prof. Dr. Rajab Al-Kahlawi, Vice Dean of the College for 
Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Muammar Ratib, Vice Dean of the College for 
Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, held a symposium to raise 
awareness of the dangers of narcotic substances. The symposium aimed to introduce 
the dangers of drugs and psychotropic substances, and to educate young people and 
students about the crimes facing society arising from dealing in drugs and psychotropic 
substances on the At all levels, and urging concerted efforts to eliminate this dangerous 
phenomenon.
The symposium touched on several topics, including the definition of drugs and psychotropic 
substances, the reasons for their spread, the effects of dealing with them, and finally 
the penalties prescribed for them.
The symposium made a number of recommendations, including: The necessity of activating 
the supervisory role to monitor cases of abuse and promotion, in addition to employing 
all media means to raise awareness of the dangers of drugs and psychotropic substances 
and urging students to pay attention to developing their talents and filling their free 
time and the importance of active participation in various student activities at 
the university.
