‏ The Effect of Nutritional Education on Menstrual Migraine and Stress Reduction among Secondary Nursing Students

Research Abstract
Menstrual migraine's predictability offers a special chance to create focused treatment plans that are suited to the individual requirements of afflicted women.
Aim
The study aimed to evaluate the effect of nutritional education on menstrual migraine and stress reduction among secondary nursing students.
Subjects and Methods
A quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design was conducted among 400 female students enrolled in technical secondary nursing schools in Assiut and Damanhour Governorates, Egypt. Data collected using a structured questionnaire covering personal, menstrual, and migraine characteristics, the Migraine Disability Assessment Scale (MIDAS), the Headache Impact Test (HIT-6), and the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-14). The nutritional education program consisted of educational sessions addressing menstrual migraine, dietary modifications, stress management, relaxation techniques, emotional coping strategies, and sleep hygiene. Participants  evaluated before and three months after the intervention.
Results
Of the initial sample, 376 students completed the post-intervention assessment, yielding an attrition rate of 6%. The percentage of students with severe migraine disability significantly decreased from 27.8% before to 7.4% after the intervention. Likewise, severe headache impact decreased from 51.5% to 22.3%, while high perceived stress levels declined from 88.5% to 39.9% following the intervention (p<0.001).
