Within the framework of the presidential initiative "Decent Life for Human Development", the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Faculty of Sports Sciences, Assiut University, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abdel-Alim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Emad Samir Mahmoud, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Mustafa El-Sebaei, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Khedry, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences for Postgraduate Studies and Research, organized an awareness seminar entitled "Reducing the Phenomenon of Smoking and Drug Abuse" on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, in Hall (2) at the Faculty, for first-year students as part of the academic guidance activities for the academic year 2025/2026. Prof. Dr. Atef Farouk El-Qarn, Professor of Chest Diseases at the Faculty of Medicine, Assiut University, lectured. The seminar aimed to raise students' awareness of the dangers of these negative phenomena to their health and future, and to emphasize the university's role in building an informed generation capable of serving society.
