Establishment of Al Rajhi Hospital

The hospital is the largest medical edifice and the first hospital in Upper Egypt for liver patients, and was co-established by al-Rajhi Foundation in Saudi Arabia with 52 million pounds and the Foundation of Masr al-Khair with four million pounds and a governmental support about 60 million pounds in total of 130 million pounds. The hospital opened on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, a trial run in 2013, and started real work in 2014. It was operated in three stages, starting with small surgeries and ending with liver transplantation. Hospital location: Located in Assiut governorate in the Arab Republic of Egypt on the campus of Assiut University, Assiut University is the oldest and largest university in Upper Egypt. Al Rajhi Hospital is located next to the Orman University Heart Hospital and behind the Children's Hospital.
