The Assiut Motorsport team at the college is ranked seventh globally and first among Egyptian universities.

Under the generous patronage of Professor Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of the University, Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Khaled Salah, Dean of the Faculty, and Professor Dr. Mohamed Safwat Abu-Rayeh, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs and Supervisor of Student Activities at the Faculty, the Assiut Motorsport team participated in the RoboRacer Sim Racing League ICRA 2026, a global university competition in the field of autonomous driving car racing using simulation.

The competition was held online, with teams preparing and submitting their systems electronically. Performance was then evaluated within a simulated environment by the competition organizers.

The competition took place during May 2026 and included a qualifying round followed by the final round. Our team achieved a remarkable accomplishment, securing seventh place globally out of 73 university teams from around the world and first place in Egypt and the Middle East. The participation was supervised by Dr. Gamal Abdel-Nasser, Coordinator of the Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering Program and the team's supervisor. Eleven students from the team, which has over 80 members, participated in the competition. The participating students were Mohamed El-Gohary, Abdel Rahman Hamouda, Saif El-Dabi, Sama Ahmed, Aisha Ahmed, Steve Joseph, Sajda Mohamed, Jana Mahmoud, Mohamed Abbas, Ahmed Ashraf, Abdel Rahman Mohamed, Mohamed Emad, and Doaa Essam.

Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Khaled Salah, stated that this achievement represents a significant step for the Assiut Motorsport team. The team achieved a high international ranking and raised the profile of Assiut University in an international competition with the participation of numerous university teams from around the world. This reflects the university and faculty's commitment to supporting student activities and encouraging students to participate in international competitions.

In this context, Dean Dr. Khaled Salah extends his sincere congratulations, thanks, and appreciation to Professor Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of the University, and Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, for their continuous and unwavering support of student activities at the faculty, which has resulted in this great achievement.
