The Faculty of Law, Assiut University mourns Dr. Ahmed Fathi Sorour, Professor of Criminal Law and Dean of the Faculty of Law.

Dr. Dwaib Hussein Saber, Dean of the College, the Deans of the College, and the distinguished faculty members, mourn with great sadness Dr. Ahmed Fathi Sorour, the former Minister of Education, praying to the Lord - the Almighty - to cover him with His vast mercy, to dwell him in His spacious gardens, and to inspire his family with patience and solace.

Dr. Sorour is considered a symbol of the law, with a distinguished judicial, legal, diplomatic, executive, parliamentary and professional history, both internally and internationally. He held many positions, including the presidency of the People’s Assembly, the deanship of the Faculty of Law, the position of Vice President of Cairo University, and the presidency of the Criminal Law Department at the Faculty of Law, Cairo University. He also served as President of the Egyptian Society for Economics, Statistics and Legislation, President of the Egyptian Society for Criminal Law, and many other positions. Important legal, judicial, diplomatic, parliamentary and executive functions.
