Assiut University Participates in the National Council for Women's Educational Seminar "The National Strategy for Women's Empowerment 2030: A Comprehensive Vision for a Better Future"

Under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, a student delegation from the Faculty of Law, under the supervision of Dr. Douib Saber, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Legal Advisor to the University President, participated on Monday, February 3, in the National Council for Women's Educational Seminar on "The National Strategy for Women's Empowerment 2030: A Comprehensive Vision for a Better Future." Dr. Naglaa El-Adly, Director General of International Cooperation at the National Council for Women, presented the seminar.

The seminar aimed to introduce the Women's Empowerment Strategy 2030, which was adopted by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and declared a national working document to empower Egyptian women economically, socially, and politically, as well as to ensure their protection from all forms of violence and discrimination. It also focuses on providing fair opportunities for women and enhancing their effective participation in community development.

The seminar reviewed: The role of universities in combating violence against women is achieved through: changing cultural misconceptions, promoting values ​​of gender equality, encouraging scientific research on women's issues, and conducting studies that help provide sustainable solutions to the problems they face. This is in addition to establishing units to combat violence against women in universities, with the aim of providing legal, social, and psychological support to female students. Furthermore, numerous workshops and student camps are also being implemented to raise awareness of women's issues.

For his part, Dr. Duwaib Hussein Saber emphasized that achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and Egypt Vision 2030 is linked to the success of national institutions participating in achieving social justice, empowering women, and providing the necessary protection to obtain all their rights. He praised the role of the symposium in strengthening students' visions for advancing the status of women in Assiut Governorate and beyond.

The symposium was attended by Dr. Ragab Al-Kahlawy, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, a number of faculty members, (21) male and female students from the college, and a delegation from the council. At the conclusion of the symposium, The shield of the Faculty of Law and the National Council for Women was exchanged.

In a related context, the Faculty of Law delegation headed to the Cairo International Book Fair, where they toured the Ministry of Interior's pavilion, participating in the 56th edition. They reviewed the legal and security publications presented by the Ministry, particularly those related to human rights, counterterrorism, and legal research related to police work. They also viewed historical and military publications that highlight the sacrifices of the Egyptian army in defending the homeland.

The delegation also toured the Ministry of Defense pavilion, which contained numerous books, collectibles, interactive displays, historical documents, maps, publications, and rare photos of military figures. They also visited a number of strategic studies and scientific publications that discuss specialized topics of interest to various segments of society, reflecting the significant role played by the armed forces in protecting the homeland.

The delegation members expressed their admiration for the modern technologies and methods used to display the pavilion's content, which made the experience more interactive and enriching.

Dr. Douib Hussein Saber presented the faculty's shield to the pavilion officials. In honor of the Egyptian forces and in appreciation of their great role in protecting the homeland and their continued support for culture and education.

At the end of the tour, the delegation toured the pavilions of various publishing and distribution houses and reviewed the latest publications and releases.

A delegation from Assiut University participated in the visit, including Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Aleem, Assistant Professor of Legal History and Director of the English Language Law Program; Professor Ahmed Saad, Assistant Lecturer in the Civil Law Department; Iyad Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, Teaching Assistant in the Civil Law Department of the English Language Program; Omar Salah, Teaching Assistant in the Legal History Department; Dr. Ashraf Gaballah, Director of the Faculty's Youth Care Department; and Professor Hossam El-Hafnawy, Director of the Public Relations Department at the Faculty of Law, along with a number of university administrative staff.
