Vice President of Assiut University witnesses the launch of the institute s workshop activities on principles and applications of polymerase chain reaction (PCR)

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gamal, President of Assiut University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Minshawi, Vice President for Postgraduate Affairs, inaugurated the activities of the first-level workshop on " Principles and Applications of the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)", organized by the Molecular Biology Researches & Studies Institute, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Asmaa Abdel Nasser, Dean of Institute, and Prof. Dr. Amr Abdel Al-Fattah, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, with the participation of a group of researchers from various faculties of the university. From his side, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Minshawi praised the scientific and research activities that the institute provides to our research fellows from various colleges and institutes, which comes as a result of the efforts made over the past years. Prof. Dr. Asmaa Abdel Nasser explained that the activities of the workshop extend over two days, with the participation of 20 researchers from various faculties of the university and external, which is the first workshop held by the institute since a period of interruption due to the Corona pandemic. Prof. Dr. Amr Abdel-Fattah also indicated that the workshop is witnessing an introductory lecture about the institute, and the disciplines and departments it includes, followed by two lectures on DNA extraction and the Principles of PCR, finalizing by an explanation of the practical part. He also provided that the workshop activities are completed on its second day with three lectures on Primer design, Agarose Gel Electrophoresis, and the different types of PCR.
