On Sunday, October 5, 2025, God willing,  the Department of Pharmacognosy will hold a scientific discussion session for the doctoral dissertation of pharmacist Youstina Malek Amin (external PhD candidate).

The session will be titled:

"Bio-guided Phytochemical Study for Certain species belonging to Family Arecaceae, Cultivated in Egypt"

 The discussion will take place in the meeting room of the Department of Pharmacognosy at 10:30 a.m.
 

On Sunday, October 5, 2025, God willing, the Department of Pharmacognosy will hold a scientific discussion session for the doctoral dissertation of pharmacist Walaa Saad Qour (external PhD candidate).

The session will be titled:

"Bio-guided Phytochemical Study on Bolusanthus speciosus, Family: Fabaceae and Sabal yapa, Family: Arecaceae, Cultivated in Egypt"

The session will be held in the meeting room of the Department of Pharmacognosy at 10:30 AM.

God willing, The Pharmacognosy Department Council will hold its regular monthly meeting number (63) will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 11:00 A.M.

God willing, the Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry Department Council will hold its regular monthly meeting number (501) will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2025, at 12:00 p.m.

God willing, The Medicinal Chemistry Department Council will hold its regular monthly meeting number (490), will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 12:00 P.M in the department library.

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, the Board of Directors of the Compulsory Training Unit for Internship Pharmacists at the Faculty convened.

The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Gehan Nabil Fateih, Dean of the Faculty and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Unit, and Dr. Sahr Badr Hassan, Acting Head of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Director of the Unit.

The meeting was also attended by:

• Prof. Dr. Hassan Refaat Hassan, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs,
• Dr. Randa Hafez, representative of the Egyptian Drug Authority,
• Prof. Dr. Ahmed Safwat Mohamed, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry,
• Prof. Dr. jilan Abdel-Razek Abdel-Aleem, Professor in the Department of Industrial Pharmacy and Director of the Quality Assurance Unit,
• Dr. Loren Gamal Gabrial, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacognosy,
• Ms. Rasha Ali Zaghloul, representative of the Faculty’s administrative staff.

The meeting discussed the preparations for the new academic year 2025/2026 for the compulsory training of internship pharmacists.

This took place on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.

Under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of the University, and Prof. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Gehan Nabil Feteih, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Prof. Hassan Refaat Hassan, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, honored the students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Assiut University, who participated in the 13th Student Conference at Mansoura University, held during the period 15–17 September 2025.

The faculty participated with five students:

• Mennatallah Saleh Massoud – 5th year (Clinical Pharmacy)
• Hassan Mohamed Hassan – 2nd year (Pharm D General)
• Nour Tarek Ahmed – 4th year (Clinical Pharmacy)
• Fatma Elzahraa Gamal – 5th year (Clinical Pharmacy)
• Amira Osama Ahmed – 4th year (Clinical Pharmacy)

The students contributed with a number of scientific research papers and posters. Mennatallah Saleh Massoud (5th year, Clinical Pharmacy) won 3rd place for her research in the field of Medical and Organic Chemistry. All participating students also received certificates of appreciation during the conference.

The honoring ceremony was attended by Dr. Shaimaa Ali Abdel-Zaher, Director of the Youth Welfare Department, and Mr. Mohamed Makhlouf Ali, Specialist of the Scientific Committee in the Youth Welfare Department.

Such student participation in these activities comes in line with the Faculty’s vision to support creativity, enhance scientific research, and develop students’ skills.
