10th Round of Egyptian-Japanese Educational Initiative (EJEP) Scholarship Program for Undergraduate Students

 With the launch of the Presidential Initiative "Future Minds" program to invest in the minds of the youth of the nation, in order to build a conscious and educated generation of Egyptian youth who have the capabilities and skills to contribute to the building of the new republic.

And within the framework of the Egyptian-Japanese Educational Initiative, the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector (Central Department of Missions) announces the opening of applications on a competitive basis to obtain scholarships to spend a semester or academic year for the first undergraduate level. Applications are submitted electronically through the website of the Central Department of Missions [https://eservices.cdm.edu.eg/services/CDMA_2023](https://eservices.cdm.edu.eg/services/CDMA_2023) starting from 23/4/2024 until 23/5/2024, and all required documents are attached to the website. The paper file is delivered to those accepted after the announcement of the result, including all originals of the documents that were attached electronically as follows:

**Duration of study in Japan as follows:**

* One semester for the first undergraduate level
* Academic year for the first undergraduate level
* All financial allocations as determined according to the available funding, and may be modified or subject to changes in decrease or increase according to the circumstances and vision of the Ministry and what the Egyptian state and the Ministry of Higher Education and the Missions Administration and the Executive Committee decide.
* Missions bear all expenses related to the program (visa - travel tickets round trip - accommodation - living - university fees) and missions do not bear any expenses for accompanying family or companions
* This mission is available for all disciplines.

**Application requirements:**

* Not to exceed 22 years of age as of the date of the start of the announcement.
* The applicant must have spent at least the first academic year at the university, and it is not permissible to travel during the last year.
* To be enrolled in an Egyptian government or private university.
* To have a GPA of 3.2 or very good in previous years (each year separately) and that the submitted statement of grades shows the grade or percentage for each academic year separately and is approved and sealed.
* To provide an English language level of 5.5 IELTS or 59 in the international IBT test, except for Japanese language departments, where a level of N3 must be achieved.
* There must be a student exchange agreement between the Egyptian government or private university in which the student is studying and one of the Japanese universities. The student is not allowed to apply to any other university.

**Required documents upon application for the advertisement:**

1. An approved certificate of registration from the Egyptian government or private university stating that the student is in the registered class.
2. A certificate in Arabic with the grades of previous years (each year separately) showing the grade obtained by the student, not less than GPA3.2 or very good.
3. A certificate of postponement of conscription or exemption from it for males.
4. A copy of the birth certificate.
5. A copy of the national ID card or a copy of the passport, if any (must be valid for two years)
6. Approval of the Egyptian government or private university in which he is studying for his nomination for the scholarship (approval of Prof. Dr./Dean of the Faculty)
7. A preliminary acceptance letter from one of the universities in Japan signed by the university or the responsible academic supervisor at the Japanese university, stating the availability of study materials in the specialty in the English language, except for Japanese language departments (it should be noted that there is a student exchange agreement between the Egyptian university in which the student is studying and the Japanese university and additional information about the universities can be found by clicking here) and for more details on the acceptance letter click here
8. A letter from the university in Egypt stating whether the agreement concluded with the university in Japan is with or without tuition fees in the field of specialization.

**Required documents when traveling:**

* The original language certificate stating that you have obtained a score of 5.5 on the IELTS test or 59 on the international IBT test or achieved a level of 3N if you are from Japanese language departments, provided that the certificate is valid.
* Final acceptance letter from the Japanese university
* Approval of Mr. Prof. Dr. Vice President of the University for Student Affairs to travel
* Completion of travel documents and procedures according to the regulations and rules of the Central Department of Missions

**It is required that the students nominated for one semester or a full academic year be accepted according to the approval of both the Egyptian and Japanese universities, with the approval of the university in Egypt to equate the study materials that will be studied abroad.
