Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, extends his congratulations to Dr. Noubi Mohamed Hassan Abdel Rahim, former dean of the Faculty of Engineering and vice-president of Assiut University for Academic Affairs, on winning the third place award in the Security Studies competition for the Prince Nayef award for Arab security for the year 2024, organized by the secretariat of the Council of Arab ministers of the interior in Tunisia.

The president of Assiut University pointed out that Dr. Nobi's victory reflects the scientific and research excellence he enjoys, and comes as a result of his outstanding research work in a study entitled: "Artificial Intelligence and its Applications in the Field of Crime Control (International Experiments – strategic plan)", which reviewed how artificial intelligence technologies can be used in the fight against crime in its various stages (before the crime, during the crime, and after the crime).

The study consists of 160 pages and deals with distinguished international experiences from the United States of America, China, the United Kingdom, France, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, where it provided a deep analysis of the various applications used in those countries, and linked them to security strategic plans. The study also touched upon the prospects for the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the fight against crime, as well as the challenges facing it.

The study also included a proposed strategic plan that includes theses and operational and procedural initiatives, indicating the stages of implementation of the plan and its relationship with the responsible parties, and how to arrange the necessary funding to achieve the desired success.

It is worth mentioning that Prof. Dr. Nobi Mohammed Hassan has already won the second place award for this award in 2018 for his study entitled: "A tripartite system to combat cybercrimes".

Dr. El-Minshawy confirms that this victory reflects the outstanding scientific and research capabilities of Assiut University, contributes to strengthening its position on the scientific and regional arena, and reflects the efforts exerted in the field of scientific research and academic development.
