- Dr. El-Minshawy: leadership development forums are an opportunity to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among Arab youth
As part of Assiut University's keenness to develop the skills of its students and enhance their leadership abilities, the University participated in the activities of the sixth Arab student forum for preparing leaders, which was held under the slogan "Developing Innovation and Entrepreneurship Skills", organized by the Union of Arab universities in cooperation with the University of Sharjah and the Institute for preparing leaders – Egypt.
The forum witnessed the presence and supervision of a number of prominent academic figures, including Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, secretary general of the Union of Arab Universities, Dr. Karim Hassan Hammam, advisor to the minister of higher education for student activities and director of the Institute for preparing leaders – Egypt, and Dr. Hamid Majoul Al Nuaimi, president of the University of Sharjah, with the participation of student delegations from 18 Arab countries.
Assiut University was represented at the forum by student Martin Nasser, president of the University Students ' Union, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Madiha Darwish, general supervisor of student activities, and Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, Director General of student welfare and student unions administration.
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, praised the activities of the forum, stressing that it reflects the importance of Arab and regional cooperation in developing the skills of young people and expanding their horizons through the exchange of knowledge and experiences. He added that such initiatives provide an ideal environment for students to enhance their leadership abilities, creative thinking, and effective decision-making, which helps them turn their ideas into innovative and sustainable projects.
El-Minshawy stressed that Assiut University always seeks to support its students by providing opportunities that contribute to the development of their leadership skills and knowledge, and involve them in international events that enhance their academic and practical experiences. He also pointed out that the participation of university students in such forums contributes to preparing a generation capable of facing the challenges of the labor market, and enhancing their energies and ambitions in line with Egypt's Vision 2030.
For his side, student Martin Nasser, president of Assiut University Students ' Union, expressed his pride in representing the University in this distinguished Arab Forum, praising the role played by the University in supporting its students and providing ways to participate in activities that contribute to the preparation of future leaders.
The forum was held during the period from February 16 to 21, 2025, and included a set of specialized workshops and interactive training sessions that addressed topics such as" leadership skills needed to build character"," entrepreneurship", in addition to Sessions that discussed innovation in space and astronomy Sciences in the Arab World, Sustainability, soft skills and their role in leadership". The events also included scientific visits aimed at enhancing the practical knowledge of the participants.
Assiut University's participation in this forum is a confirmation of its commitment to prepare its students to be future leaders, capable of creativity and competition in various fields.
