The General Authority for literacy and adult education " presents prof . El-Minshawy The Shield of the authority in recognition of the efforts of Assiut University and its effective participation in the adult literacy file in Assiut

The General Authority for literacy and adult education in Assiut presented the Shield of the authority to prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, on Tuesday, December 31, in appreciation of Assiut University's efforts and its effective participation in the adult literacy file in Assiut.

During his reception, Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy, Director General of the branch of the General Authority for literacy and adult education in Assiut, mentioned the University's keenness to support Egypt's Vision 2030 and contribute to the implementation of the human building strategy launched by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, president of the Republic, which places attention to the human element, and its scientific, cultural and intellectual rehabilitation, as its top priority, based on its role as a major hub for achieving comprehensive development, explaining that the university has implemented an integrated plan; to support the This comes within the framework of the University's strategy to disseminate science and knowledge, and to activate its leading role in community service.

This came in the presence of Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Alim, vice president of the University for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Amani Mohammed Sharif, vice dean of the College of education for community service and environmental development, advisor to the president of the University for Strategic Planning and Crisis Management, Mr. Ahmed Eid Ibrahim, deputy general director of the branch, Mr. Mohammed Bakr Aish, director of training, and Mr. Abdul Latif Mohammed, director of Public Relations.

Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the General Authority for adult education at its branch in Assiut, praising its efforts in implementing and following up the National Literacy Project, stressing that literacy is a national duty and a basis for advancement and development, as the issue of illiteracy is one of the most important issues that hinder the development process in Egypt, as it leads to weakening the intellectual energies of individuals, and limits their abilities to creativity and production.  

For his side, Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Alim pointed out that the university has taken a set of executive measures to eradicate illiteracy in the surrounding community, within the framework of its social and national responsibility, and to emphasize its interest in the axis of adult illiteracy, considering them a human force that must be qualified and endowed with scientific and life skills, as well as activating the protocol of cooperation with the commission for literacy and adult education, through the Adult Education Center at the Faculty of education at the University, assigning students to eradicate the illiteracy of a number of illiterates, linking this with a graduation certificate, and holding courses to prepare an" adult teacher" to qualify the university student to deal with illiterate students.

Mr. Nadi Ibrahim Abdel Aal expressed his appreciation for the efforts and pivotal role of Assiut University in adult literacy in Assiut Governorate, praising the University's plan and its future vision to promote the Adult Literacy Project and expand the base of its spread, through committing university students to the literacy of some illiterates as a condition for graduation, stressing the branch's keenness to strengthen cooperation with the university as a step on the road to development and development, thanking the University's specialized professors participating in the project.
