The President of Assiut University considers future cooperation with the French Universities of Le Havre and Marseille

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, Acting President of Assiut University, stressed the keenness of the university’s administration to achieve scientific and cultural openness with major scientific and research institutions in various countries of the world. Such openness plays a vital role in enriching the scientific movement within the university and keeps pace with global scientific development in various fields. The president also announced that the university considers future cooperation with the French Universities of Le Havre and Marseille in various scientific fields. He added that the university examines necessary measures to regulate scientific exchange and joint work.  

This declaration was during his meeting with Dr. Adam Daish, Professor at the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Marseille and Dr. Omar Khumry, Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Le Havre, France, during their visit to the university. The meeting was in the presence of Dr. Hussein Al-Kashef, Professor of Organic Chemistry at the Faculty of Sciences, Assiut university. 

Dr. Hussein Al-Kashef explained that the delegation's visit comes within the framework of joint scientific projects that brings together Assiut University and Le Havre University in the field of preparing organic compounds and clarifying their effectiveness against cancer. This project between Egypt and France is called the "Amenhotep Project." Moreover, another project with the University of Marseille is funded by the Francophone Agency, which aims to prepare organic compounds and evaluate their effectiveness against Leishmaniasis.
