Under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the University witnessed the launch of the annual conference of the Egyptian Union of Students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, under the title (A Step on the Road), on Monday, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Mina Emad, deputy governor of Assiut, under the supervision of Dr. Jehan Nabil Hassan, dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Dr. Hassan Refaat Hassan, vice dean of the Faculty of pharmacy for education and student affairs.
The conference was, organized by the Office of the Egyptian Union of Students of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Assiut University (EPSF Asiut); from (3) February to (6) February, with the participation of Pharmacy faculties from various public, and national and private universities in Egypt, and organized by Dr. Nermin Iraqi, academic supervisor of the Egyptian Union of students of the Faculty of Pharmacy in Assiut, and Dr. Hisham Tawfik, coordinator of student activities at the Faculty of Pharmacy.
Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy praised the participation of Pharmacy faculties from various universities in the conference activities, which reflects the spirit of cooperation and integration between educational institutions, and enhances the quality of Pharmacy Education, to keep pace with global developments in this field, stressing the University's support for innovative student ideas; and creating a generation capable of upgrading the New Republic.
Prof. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla explained that the holding of the conference in its seventeenth edition is a continuation of a continuous march of giving and excellence to the Egyptian Federation of Pharmacy students, which was founded in 1982, sincerely congratulating the founding professors, who took upon themselves the beginning and the idea and its implementation on the ground, pointing to the keenness of the university administration and the Faculty of Pharmacy to develop scientific research in the field of pharmaceutical industry, which is one of the most important industries supporting the national economy.
For her side, Dr. Jehan Fatteh praised the support provided by the university administration to all student activities that raise the level of its students and graduates, for the sake of real competition for the local and international labor market; wishing the participating students to benefit from the events, activities and workshops held throughout (4) days.
Dr. Hassan Refaat also pointed out that the conference aims to enable students to build a clear vision for their professional future in the field of Pharmacy, provide a platform for communication with experts and specialists in the field, provide participants with practical experiences that enable them to face the challenges of the labor market, motivate students to innovate and contribute to the development of the pharmaceutical field.
Dr. Nermin al-Iraqi added that the conference focuses on several axes aimed at developing the skills of Pharmacy students and expanding their professional horizons, including؛
Introducing the different disciplines of Pharmacy and how to choose the appropriate professional path, enhancing students ' understanding of the role of a pharmacist in various fields of health care, providing practical applications and workshops to develop scientific and practical skills, discussing the latest innovations and technologies in the field of Pharmacy, artificial intelligence and drug effectiveness, genetic analysis and its role in determining the appropriate type of Medicine.
Dr. Mohamed Hazem, president of the Egyptian Federation of Pharmacy students, also explained the prominent role of the federation in introducing new educational methods to introduce everything modern within the field of Pharmacy, and participate in raising health awareness within the community through awareness campaigns on diseases and ways to prevent them, blood donation campaigns and humanitarian services, and student exchange at the level of (80) countries around the world, he also pointed out that the Egyptian Federation of Pharmacy students won the best student organization for the year 2023/2024; straight up.
At the end of the opening ceremony, the participants in the continuation of the conference were honored, headed by Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla, Dr. Jehan Fattah, and Dr. Mina Emad, deputy governor of Assiut.
