Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, opened this Wednesday morning, July 2, the luxury housing building (3) in the university cities for female students, following the completion of the comprehensive replacement and renovation works carried out there, through the internal resources and internal efforts of the university cities sector, without the use of any external contractor.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that all stages of development were carried out with the help of engineers and workers of the university cities sector, in a successful experience that reflects the efficiency of technical and administrative cadres at the University, and their ability to implement quality projects with the highest levels of quality, and at the lowest costs. He added that this achievement comes within the framework of the University's continuous plan to develop and expand the facilities of university cities, and raise the efficiency of its infrastructure, to ensure the improvement of the level of accommodation and services provided to expatriate students, and at the same time reflects the University's commitment to apply the principles of sustainability and rationalization of resources.

The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed abdulmouly, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, Mr. Mahmoud Antar, director general of the university cities, Mr. Arafa Abu Al-Ula, consultant at the university cities sector, Ms. Salwa Sharit, director of the university city (female students), Mr. Emad Mohammed Sayed, director of the University City(students), Ms. Amani Mustafa, head of the luxury housing building (3), Miss. Fatima Fouad, director of Public Relations at the University City, and a number of employees and supervisors at the university cities sector.

  The development of the luxury housing building (3) included the implementation of a package of replacement and renovation works, which included repainting the entire building, maintaining plumbing and electricity networks, repairing toilets, developing the entrance to the building and the surrounding garden, in addition to refurnishing various rooms and facilities to provide a comfortable and modern living environment for university city students.

  The president of Assiut University pointed out that the furnishing operations relied on innovative solutions implemented by the maintenance unit at the university cities sector, where old furniture was recycled and converted into modern pieces, including wardrobes, tables, benches and corners, in a pioneering experiment that reflects the University's orientation towards applying the concepts of sustainability and rationalization of resources, and contribute to improving the aesthetic shape of the building and creating an integrated living environment for students.

Dr. El-Minshawy added that the building consists of four floors and includes 177 double rooms, which are equipped with modern furniture and accommodation requirements to ensure a distinct level of comfort and privacy, and the building also contains a number of modern service facilities, including an air-conditioned auditorium for 65 students, a Television Hall, a computer center, and an office to provide photography and printing services.

During his inspection tour inside the building, Dr. El-Minshawy assured the readiness of the rooms and the availability of basic equipment and supplies, expressing his appreciation for the efforts exerted by all the workers involved in the implementation of the project, and thanking the maintenance unit and all employees in the university cities sector, appreciating the spirit of commitment and cooperation that contributed to achieving this achievement.

For his side, Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president of Assiut University for education and Student Affairs, stressed that the university cities sector is one of the vital pillars in the University's student welfare system, as it accommodates thousands of students from various governorates of the Republic. He pointed out that the current boom in the sector in terms of expansions, development works and upgrading the efficiency of existing facilities is a qualitative leap in the level of services, and reflects the keenness of the university administration to provide a safe and equipped residential environment that contributes to supporting educational achievement and meets the aspirations of students.

In the same context, Mr. Mahmoud Antar, director general of university cities, explained that the sector is witnessing a series of replacement and renovation projects during the current period, including the development of building X and building p, as well as the development of the fourth floor in building L, as well as the near completion of equipping the beach playground in the University City for students behind building m, as part of a comprehensive plan to improve facilities and enhance the quality of services provided to students.
