Mission:

The Department of Molecular Biology is devoted to scientific research in the field of Molecular Biology to fulfill the mission of the Institute for Research and Studies of Molecular Biology, Assiut University complying with the ethical values and quality standards, through:

• Preparing new generations of researchers and specialists at the academic, research and applied level, capable of dealing with the variables and requirements of the labor market to solve the problems of development and society.
• Preparing distinguished scientific researchers capable of contributing to the development of the medical, pharmaceutical, veterinary, agricultural and environmental fields.
• Providing advanced education in the field of molecular biology to meet with the global scientific development for postgraduate students (Diploma - Masters – Ph.D.)
• Providing training courses for graduates and researchers in various disciplines of molecular biology.
• Participation in research projects that serve the general plan of the institute and community development.
• Providing scientific consultations that serve scientific research and the local community to develop the environment.

The department's mission is achieved through:

• The application of quality standards in preparing and specification the academic courses taught in the department in order to pace the latest global developments.
• Raising the capabilities of students in the department through discussion sessions and practical exercises.
• Transferring the new scientific experiences and techniques in the field of molecular biology to the department's staff and students through holding workshops, conferences and specialized seminars and cooperating with national and international scientific and research institutes.
• Knowing the most important problems and obstacles facing society in the fields of molecular biology, and developing research plans to find appropriate practical solutions to solve them.
• Participation in scientific publishing, and international and national scientific conferences.
• Strengthening scientific and cultural relationships with other Local, Arab and foreign universities within the framework of the state's general policy.
