Department of Applied Biostatistics and Bioinformatics

Vision

Providing the best forms of postgraduate education in the fields of Biostatistics and Applied Bioinformatics and qualifying researchers scientifically and practically for the ability to understand and analyze data statistically and to develop information technology programs in order to promote the use of them to keep pace with recent developments in molecular biology and its applications to contribute to national and societal development.

Mission

The mission of the Department of Biostatistics and Applied Bioinformatics stems from the mission of the MBRSI Institute, as the department is interested in preparing generations of researchers in Egyptian universities, research centers, and industrial centers capable of facing the challenges resulting from rapid scientific developments through their ability to understand and analyze molecular biology data and develop computer technology programs that serve the fields of molecular biology and environmental sciences to meet the requirements of the local and regional labor market.

The goals

1- Raising awareness of the importance of knowing the basics of the fields of biostatistics and bioinformatics and their various applications by holding introductory seminars and participating in scientific conference.

2- Designing biological experiments related to the fields of genetics, medicine, pharmacy, agriculture, etc., and collecting, summarizing and analyzing the data resulting from these experiments, and interpreting the results for the benefit of society.

3-Building and updating a database for research related to biostatistics and bioinformatics in order to analyze and get benefits from it.

4- Holding training courses throughout the year undergraduates and graduates from different related faculties.
