Prof.El-Minshawy confirms Assiut University's keenness to qualify its students to participate in various local and international competitions, praising their excellence

   A team of students from the Faculty of specific education at Assiut University, under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, and under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla, vice president for education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Yasmin Al-kahki, acting dean of the Faculty of specific education, participated in the activities of the twenty-fourth session of the competition "public speaking for the environment between colleges and universities", which was organized by the Emirates environment group, during the period from 25 to 28 November 2024 in the United Arab Emirates/ Dubai; to put forward innovative solutions to pressing environmental issues.

 The student team participating in the competition came under the supervision of Dr. Muntaser Al-qalli, head of the department, and Dr. Ali Mamdouh, a teacher at the Department of music education at the Faculty of specific education.the student team included: Youssef Ramadan, Bayan Sadek, Renad Abdullah, and Dunia Mansour, in the third band at the Department of music education.

   Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy praised the outstanding participation of students of the Faculty of specific education in the twenty-fourth session of the public speaking competition for the environment, pointing out that participation in environmental competitions contributes to raising students ' awareness of global environmental issues, enhances the idea of environmental sustainability, and contributes to honing their skills in communication and openness with other students from other countries, stressing the University's keenness to open paths for students to express their potential, discover their talents and creativity, support, develop, and allow the practice of activities of various kinds.

For his side, Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla stressed that the participation of university students in local and international competitions has a leading role in refining and preparing their personality, developing their skills, creating a spirit of honest competition among them, promoting critical thinking, cooperation, and problem-solving skills.he appreciated the efforts of the Faculty of specific education staff and the assisting body in upgrading the skills of college students to be eligible to compete in various competitions.

Dr. Yasmin Al-kahki explained that the participation of college students in the Environmental Public Speaking Competition was virtual (online), by presenting a research project entitled "The role of music in promoting environmental awareness", stressing the college's keenness to encourage students and motivate them to participate in international competitions, especially in the fields of the environment; in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, sincerely thanks and appreciation to the university administration for its keenness to support student activities and develop students ' skills.

Dr. Ali Mamdouh pointed out that the participation of the students of the Department of music education in the Environmental Public Speaking Competition is the only Egyptian participation in the competition at the level of Egyptian universities, stressing that the research project submitted by the students received praise and admiration from all Arab universities, and reflected the skill and creativity of students, and their ability to compete on the international arena.
