Assiut University concludes the activities of the thirteenth theatrical creativity festival with the wide participation of experts and art stars

President of Assiut University: the thirteenth theatrical creativity festival is a platform to highlight the artistic energies of students

Assiut University, under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, on Thursday, February 27, 2025, witnessed the closing ceremony of the thirteenth theatrical Creativity Festival, a course (a.Dr. Saeed Ahmed Ibrahim), for students of theater groups at the university faculties, which was organized by the Arts Department of the General Administration of Youth Welfare, during the period from 22 to 27 February 2025, at the Nile Center for enlightenment and cultural radiation theater.

The closing ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Saeed Ahmed Ibrahim, former vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Madiha Darwish, general supervisor of student activities, Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, Director General of the General Department of Youth Welfare, Mr. Mohammed Juma, director of the arts department, Ms. Rasha Jalal, head of the Performing and musical arts department and director of the festival, deans of faculties , a number of faculty members, representatives of the Youth Welfare Department at colleges, the ceremony was presented by  
Director of the arts department.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy praised the theatrical performances presented by the students, which witnessed a competition between 13 artistic performances that addressed the most important contemporary societal issues and expressed the dreams and aspirations of young people. The performances also reflected the University's students ' diverse artistic talents and energies, as the participants demonstrated their ability to creativity and artistic expression.

Dr. Al-Minshawy pointed to the great participation of experts and art stars in judging the festival's works, stressing the University's keenness to sponsor high-end arts, especially theater, because of its important role in discovering, embracing and supporting young talents. He also explained that the theater contributes to the development of students ' abilities in acting, composing and directing, which helps to upgrade their ideas and qualifies them to contribute to enhancing the cultural and intellectual level of society.

Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla stressed that the theatrical creativity festival represents a real opportunity to support and discover young talents at the undergraduate level in various fields that qualify them for excellence and creativity. This year, the festival witnessed the competition of 500 students from various faculties and institutes of the university, under the supervision and presence of a selection of art and creativity stars.

The jury included: artist Wafa al-Hakim, artist Dr. Mohammed Thabet Badari, former dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Assiut University, theater director Khaled Abu Deif, Artist director Islam front, and theater director Mohammed Juma.

Festival results:
- The first place was won by the theatrical performance "calling the guardian" of the Faculty of Arts team.
- Second place: theatrical performance" hanging death " of the Faculty of Commerce.
- Third place: theatrical performance "conscious" for students of the center with disabilities.
- Fourth place: theatrical performance" boat without a fisherman " of the Faculty of social work.

In the field of student directing, Moatasem Ali from the Faculty of law won for the show "negative zero", student Amr Ahmed from the Faculty of Sports Sciences for the show "cowardice", and student howida Ahmed Jalal from the Faculty of medicine for the show "1981".

The best theatrical directing outside the University:
- The student Mustafa Abdel Basir from the Faculty of Arts won.
- The student Ahmed Abdul Basit from the Faculty of Commerce won.

- Best Actress: Student Esraa Hamdi for the theatrical performance"hanging death".
- Best actor: student Mohammed Arafat from the Faculty of Arts for the theatrical performance "calling the Guardian".
- Best stage decoration: Mustafa Ibrahim from the Faculty of Arts, Best Musical preparation: Mohamed Mirghani from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Best Makeup: Faculty of Law, best poems and best melodies: Faculty of social work by Darwish Asyouti

Students participating in the festival events were also honored for Outstanding Performance.

The jury praised the excellent organization of the festival, which is a role model for theatrical university festivals, expressing their happiness in participating in the jury of the festival at its thirteenth session.

The ceremony also witnessed the honoring of Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mason la, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Said Ahmed Ibrahim, former vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, and honoring the members of the jury, the organizing committee, and the organizers of the festival events.
