The Innovative Projects Unit at Assiut University supports student projects and discusses the future work plan

As part of Assiut University's keenness to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and creativity in the student community, the University witnessed the meeting of the Council of the unit for innovative projects and student creativity to follow up the work plan during the coming period, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, and in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Mawla, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, and members of the unit Council.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamed Adawi, advisor to the president of the University for alumni affairs, entrepreneurship, and innovation, Dr. Ali Mohamed, professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Zeinab Abdel Hafez, assistant professor at the Faculty of Specific Education, Dr. Gamal Abdel Nasser, general supervisor of the unit, Dr. Ali Hussein, teacher at the Faculty of computers and Information, Dr. Mohamed Hussein, executive supervisor of the unit, and Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, Director General of the General Administration of student welfare. Also present were Mr. Ihab Abdel Hamid, head of the medium and small enterprises authority in Assiut, Ms. Lola Atta, managing director of the unit, and Ms. Mary Mahfouz from the Innovative Projects Unit.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that supporting student innovation and creativity is among the priorities of the University's strategy, stressing the keenness of the university administration to provide a supportive environment for distinguished student projects and linking them with the needs of society and the labor market. He also pointed out the importance of organizing competitions and training programs aimed at developing the creative abilities of students to contribute to the preparation of cadres capable of excellence and innovation.

For his side, Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula explained that the meeting discussed the work that had been completed during the past period, as well as reviewing the plan of the unit. The meeting also addressed several important topics, most notably: the approval of the formation of Student Innovation and creativity teams representing the colleges, which includes a supervising faculty member, one of the employees of the Youth Welfare Department, and the secretary of the scientific committee of the college, and a proposal to launch a page on the official website of Assiut University, under the supervision of the Innovative Projects Unit and the Information Systems Center, to showcase students ' projects and their creative products, crafts, handicrafts and heritage, which they implement with their resources. He presented three student projects submitted by the Faculty of Engineering to participate in upcoming local and international competitions, including competitions to be held in England during July, and another in the new city of Alamein in August, in addition to international competitions at the Military Technical College, discussing the proposal to establish a permanent sales outlet on campus to market the products of student projects, as part of the University's support for entrepreneurial projects and innovative ideas.

This meeting comes within the efforts of the Innovative Projects Unit to enhance student participation, motivate students to be creative and turn their ideas into practical, actionable and marketable models.
