For the first time, Assiut University Hospitals performs endoscopic at bile ducts.

-   A medical team at Al-Rajhi Hospital at Assiut University succeeded in achieving a new medical achievement, under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, where the first operation was performed in Upper Egypt to break up large stones in the bile ducts; using cholangioscopy, spyglass cholangioscopy, and electromagnetic fragmentation, under the supervision of Dr. Alaa Attia, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, and Dr. Sherif Kamel, Director of Al Rajhi Hospital.

- Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy congratulated the medical team for its success in performing this delicate operation, praising the excellence of the medical staff at Assiut University Hospitals, and its distinguished role in providing a highly efficient medical service, using the latest methods, diagnostic and therapeutic techniques in order to provide the best possible health care, and thanking the medical team for its success in performing this delicate operation.

- Dr. Alaa Attia pointed out that the university administration is always keen to develop the medical services provided to its patients through the use of the latest advanced technologies in the field of diagnostics.

-  Dr. Sherif Kamel explained that the use of bile duct endoscopy, spyglass cholanioscopee, and electromagnetic fragmentation is one of the latest diagnostic and therapeutic techniques; in the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy, where it became possible to see the stone directly and fragment it with high accuracy, which guarantees safer and more effective results for the patient.

- The medical team included: Dr. Mohamed Abu Zeid, deputy director of the hospital for medical and therapeutic affairs and director of the endoscopy unit, Dr. Wael Ahmed Abbas, head of the gastroenterology unit at the Department of Internal Medicine, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Ghany, Dr. Ahmed Radwan, and Dr. Mohamed Ezz, teachers at the Department of Tropical Medicine and Gastroenterology.
