Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, Assiut University will host next Monday, February 24, 2025, in the Great Hall of the administrative building of the University, an awareness seminar entitled: "The role of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority in promoting awareness and Cyber Security," which is organized by the Ministry of communications and Information Technology, in cooperation with Assiut University in its various colleges and institutes.
The seminar aims to highlight the role of the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) in enhancing cybersecurity awareness, protecting users from digital risks, and disseminating best practices to maintain data privacy and information security.it also seeks to raise awareness among individuals and institutions about the increasing cyber threats, ways to address them, and promote a culture of safe use of the internet and communications. the seminar also explains the regulatory and legislative procedures adopted by the NTRA to protect cyberspace, and its role in supporting innovation and developing a secure and sustainable digital environment.
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed the need to educate young people about the dangers of the internet, how to protect information and data, protect young people from electronic extortion, enhance their abilities to deal with modern technologies, and achieve the greatest benefit from the new developments of digital communication without involvement in cybercrimes, in addition to awareness of the fourth generation wars, psychological Wars, tendentious propaganda and rumors aimed at undermining the confidence of Egyptian youth in their state and its national institutions.
The seminar comes within the framework of Assiut University continuing its cultural season by organizing a number of seminars and open dialogue meetings with students to discuss the most important issues on the scene, with the participation of a group of scientists, experts, thinkers, leading writers and professors.
The seminar, which will be delivered by experts and specialists from the NTRA, will include a lecture on "the role of the NTRA and its initiatives", delivered by Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim, head of the first community interaction sector, and a lecture on "fundamentals of cybersecurity", delivered by Engineer Mohammed Al-Hamahmi, chief cybersecurity expert.
