- Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawys, President of Assiut University, announced the harvest of the university's achievements in the international rankings file, during 2024, which witnessed remarkable progress and qualitative development, with its presence in advanced positions in many international rankings of the world's best universities in various criteria; which measure the level of research performance, social, environmental, global citations, research quality, academic reputation, interdisciplinary research, graduates' level in the international employment index, the excellence of applied scientific research and its linkage to solving societal issues.
- Assiut University President explained that Ranking 2024 comes within the framework of the university's efforts to develop the scientific research system, support researchers with the necessary capabilities to increase the number of researches, support serious research activities and practices, and encourage international publication to achieve advanced positions in various international rankings.   
-  Dr. Al-Menshawi added that the university achieved remarkable progress in the Chinese Shanghai ranking during 2024, with its inclusion in (8) scientific disciplines, which included; the first Egyptian in the field of chemical engineering, and the position (400-301) globally in the field of chemical engineering, and the university came in (400-301) globally, the fifth Egyptian in the field of mathematics, and the position (300-201), and the ninth Egyptian in the field of veterinary sciences, in addition to the inclusion in (400-301) globally, and the seventh Egyptian in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. 201) globally, the ninth Egyptian in the field of veterinary sciences, the seventh Egyptian in the field of pharmaceutical sciences, and the eleventh Egyptian in the field of agricultural sciences, in addition to being ranked (400-301) globally, the second Egyptian in the field of electronics engineering, and it was included - for the first time - in the field of biotechnology, where it ranked (500-401) globally, and the fourth Egyptian.
- Assiut University also succeeded in maintaining its international leadership position among the world's top-ranked universities, through one of the most important international university ranking organizations in the world, the QS World University Rankings.

- In this regard, 2024: Announcing the QS World University Rankings 2024: QS World University ranking, which included Assiut University among the best universities in the world in (6) scientific fields; including ranking (301-351) in the world in field of pharmacy and pharmacology, ranking (401-450) in Agricultural sciences, ranking (451-500) in the Medical field, ranking (501-550) in the field of Engineering and Technology, ranking (501-550) in the field of Chemistry, and ranking (651-550) in the field of Engineering and Technology. - As a continuation of Assiut University's progress in the criteria on which the English (QS) ranking is based, the ranking showed that Assiut University is ranked fifth in Egypt; out of (15) Egyptian universities that were ranked, which is global, regional and local progress; the ranking included more than (1,500) universities around the world that are ranked among the total number of more than (31) thousand universities in the world; the ranking is based on several indicators, namely: Academic reputation (30%), alumni reputation (15%), faculty-student ratio (10%), volume of research citations for faculty (20%), foreign faculty (5%), foreign students (5%), and research network published by researchers from more than one country This year, the ranking also improved the evaluation methodology, introducing three new metrics, namely: Sustainability (5%), Graduate Employment Outcomes (5%), and International Research Network (5%).

- Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education, honored Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, in a ceremony held to celebrate the presidents and representatives of the 15 universities that were included in the latest edition of the ranking, in the presence of Dr. Ashwin Fernandez, CEO of QS for Africa, the Middle East and South Asia, and Professor Rami Awad, Regional Director of QS Foundation, in the presence of Dr. Ashwin Fernandez, CEO of QS Rankings for Africa, the Middle East and South Asia.

- Assiut University President pointed to the achievement of quality and excellence; with a strong and remarkable presence in the US News Subjects global ranking; Assiut University obtained 75th place globally in the field of Polymer sciences, 124th place in the field of Pharmacology and Toxicology, the 205th place in the field of Energy and Fuel, the 267th place in the field of Botany and Zoology, the 255th place in agricultural sciences, the 256th place in the field of Physical Chemistry, the 259th place in the field of Engineering Sciences, the 326th place in the field of Chemistry, and the 438th place in the field of Biology and Biochemistry. - Assiut University President added that the university achieved a new achievement in one of the latest international rankings, the Turkish HE Higher Education Ranking, which showed that the university ranked 27th in the world and fourth in Egypt among (303) universities that were included in this new classification, which evaluates universities according to (25) criteria and (177) indicators, including quality assurance and accreditation, developing digital access to the educational institution, and future vision, as well as promoting transparency and academic freedom for higher education institutions.

- On the Arab level, Assiut University has a new achievement during 2024, by occupying 29th place at the level of Arab universities in the second edition of the Arab University Ranking for 2024, under the slogan “Excellence and Creativity in Higher Education.” 373 universities from 16 countries participated in the ranking and met the evaluation requirements (180), and the university ranked tenth in Egypt among (48) universities.

- The university was also included in the list of the best universities in the Arab world, according to the results of the Times of England's Arab 2024 ranking, ranking sixth in Egypt among Egyptian universities and 61-70 in the Arab world among the 238 Arab universities that were included in the ranking.

- Prof. El-Minshawy pointed out that Assiut University has achieved many advanced positions locally and internationally in various international rankings concerned with measuring the performance of universities in achieving sustainable development goals. The QS Sustainability ranking for the 2025 edition - the English classification of sustainable development criteria - showed that the university ranked 653rd in the world out of 1744 educational institutions that were included in the ranking, in addition to obtaining the fifth place in Egypt out of (26) Egyptian universities that were included in the ranking, in addition to; obtaining the fifth place in Egypt out of (26) Egyptian universities that were included in the ranking.

- The university achieved a major breakthrough in the English Times ranking on the Sustainable Development Goals for 2024, a ranking that ranks universities according to their achievement of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, where the university ranked third in Egypt and 401 in the world out of (2152) universities from (125) countries in the world that were subject to competition. The university ranked first in Egypt and (75) globally in the field of Pure water, and (81) globally, and second at the level of Egyptian universities in the field of combating poverty, and the university ranked (28) globally, and third at the level of Egyptian public universities in the field of energy saving and clean energy, and the university ranked (101 - 200) globally, and second at the level of Egyptian universities in the field of energy saving and clean energy. -  Assiut University advanced (70) levels in the Spanish World University Ranking, according to the latest report - January 2024 edition, where the university ranked (1149) globally, compared to the previous version of the ranking, in which the university ranked (1219) globally, as well as (26) at the level of the Arab world, and (21) at the level of African universities.

-  Assiut University advanced 31 levels from the previous year in the Center for World University Ranking 2024 (CWUR), which is based on four main criteria: (education, employability, faculty members and scientific research), which showed that the university ranked fifth locally and 1101 globally, in addition to the university's inclusion among the top 5.3% universities in the world; the ranking selects only 2000 universities out of more than 20 thousand universities worldwide, praising all efforts and measures taken towards upgrading the research and academic level of the university, in addition to the university's inclusion in the top 5.3%.

-  In continuation of this progress, during 2024, the university has another advancement; by advancing (221) positions; in the US News ranking, where it ranked (489) internationally among (2500) universities and came in 16th place in Africa with a progress of (3) levels from the previous year out of (100) African universities that were included in this ranking.

- The year 2024 also showed that the university advanced (200) global positions in the English classification “THE IMPACT” in the field of educational quality, and topped Egyptian universities in the efficiency of the educational process, out of more than (1680) international universities and (38) Egyptian universities, and the English classification “THE impact” classifies educational institutions according to their societal impact on the various sustainable development goals, and the quality of education is the fourth goal of these goals, and the classification depends in its measurement on a number of basic indicators, the most important of which are: The university's internationally published research on the quality of education for basic and continuing education, the percentage of graduates with a degree that qualifies them to work in the field of teaching, the university's interest in forming local and international partnerships in the field of education, as well as making its educational facilities available to members of the local community.

- Assiut University has many prominent scientists and professors in various scientific and humanitarian fields, who have contributed to the enrichment of the scientific research system, the university's leadership, its excellence, and its unprecedented progress in international rankings in recent years, in addition to their contribution to the renaissance and development through their serious and fruitful scientific research. Through their serious and fruitful scientific research, 2024 witnessed the inclusion of (38) scientists from the university's professors in the list of the top 2% of the world's most influential scientists for their total scientific production and citations of their scientific research in various disciplines.

- Assiut University pays great attention to encouraging scientific research, increasing international publication in high-impact journals, raising the quality of joint research, and recording a large number of citations, as the university achieved a leading international achievement in the Spanish Webomatrix ranking of Google Scholar citations; according to the latest report - July 2024 version - where the university recorded (521,899) citations; an increase of (47,649) citations, during January through June 2024.

- During 2024, Assiut University paid great attention to the issue of interdisciplinary research, by qualifying and preparing faculty members and assistants to be able to keep pace with new developments in modern interdisciplinary study programs, and directing them to pay attention to expanding the international publication of interdisciplinary research, and as a result of this attention, the first edition of the Times Global Interdisciplinary Science Rankings for 2025 announced that Assiut University was ranked (251 - 300) in the world in the field of interdisciplinary disciplines among (749) universities from (92 countries), and also ranked eighth in Egyptian universities. 300) in the world in interdisciplinary disciplines among (749) universities from (92) countries, and also ranked eighth at the level of Egyptian universities. - The first edition of the CWTS Leiden Open Edition, for the year 2024, which is derived from the Dutch CWTS Leiden ranking, showed that Assiut University ranked 670th in the world, out of 1506 international universities, and sixth in Egypt among (15) Egyptian universities that appeared in this ranking, as well as 13th in Africa among (43) African universities. The ranking is based on research published in the form of a scientific article or reference article classified in the Open Alex database and published in the top 1%, 5%, 10%, and 50% of the list of international journals.
