Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, stressed the keenness of the university administration to apply quality standards and harness means of support for the accreditation of colleges and their academic programs, explaining that the university adopts standards that correspond to the developmental needs of society, which achieve the advancement of scientific research, improve the quality of its outputs, increase its competitiveness, locally, regionally and internationally, and serve the purposes of sustainable development.
In this regard, Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim, vice president of the University for community service and environmental development, met with a delegation from the National Authority for quality assurance of education and accreditation, as part of their visit to the university; to review the accreditation of the Business Information Systems Program (BIS), Faculty of Commerce, and to learn about various aspects of the educational process of the program.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Alaa Abdul Hafeez, dean of the College of Commerce, Dr. Mustafa Qaid, program coordinator at the College, Dr. Ramadan Abdullah Musharraf, program Financial Officer, Professor at the accounting department, Dr. Ahmed Abdul Wahab, program Registrar, Professor at the Department of Statistics and insurance, Dr. Lamia Abdul Nasser Hamouda, professor at the Department of Business Administration, and director of the quality assurance unit at the College of Commerce.
The visiting delegation included: Dr. Sahar Badawi, professor of Business Administration at the British university in Cairo, the head of the delegation, Dr. Wael Zakaria Al-Sawy, professor of Business Administration at Port Said University as a member, and Dr. Mohammed Fawzi, professor of Business Administration at Sadat City University as a member.
During the meeting, Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim pointed out that the university administration pays great attention to the quality and academic accreditation file, and is working to provide all the necessary support to various colleges to ensure the achievement of the required standards, and promote the culture of academic quality, through training and qualification of faculty members, and staff on the latest international standards; as well as modernizing the infrastructure of college laboratories and research centers to achieve academic excellence and develop the educational process, in accordance with Egypt's Vision 2030 and the national strategy for higher education.
Dr. Alaa Abdul Hafeez stated that the visit of the commission's delegation extended over three days, and aimed at reviewing various aspects of the educational process of the business information systems (BIS) program at the college, pointing out the college's keenness to pay attention to spreading the concepts and culture of quality, and developing the capabilities of the administrative apparatus in all its departments and programs, praising the unlimited support of the university administration to the college by providing all the necessary needs and resources, supporting young researchers, as well as maximizing the use of its capabilities and resources, in the development of the research and technological process.
The delegation of the National Authority for quality assurance of education and accreditation was received by: Dr. Mohammed Adwa, vice dean for education and student affairs, advisor to the president of the University for alumni affairs, entrepreneurship and innovation, Dr. Nesma Heshmat, vice dean for graduate studies and research, Dr. Abdul Salam Noyer, former dean of the college, and Dr. Adel Rayyan, former dean of the college.
