- Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, reviewed a report on the University's most prominent contributions and its active participation in various presidential and national initiatives, in support of its social, developmental and service role, and to enhance its responsibility towards society in various sectors, social segments, and age, in order to improve the quality of life and invest in human capital.
- These initiatives included: (Alliance and development), (Hayah karima), (lifeboats), (empowering university students with determination), (national initiative for smart green projects), (a new beginning for human construction); and other initiatives aimed at providing integrated protection to lift the burden on citizens and provide support to all segments of society.
- At the forefront of these contributions is the University's strong and distinguished participation in the Presidential Initiative "a new beginning for building a human being", through the implementation of a number of programs, activities, and various services, which included all age groups, in all governorates, which targeted the development of human capital and the consolidation of Egyptian identity, during which all sectors of the University participated.
- The report also showed the University's participation in the Presidential Initiative "alliance and development", where Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the alliance of Universities of the central upper level region, participated in the first meeting of the board of Trustees of the Presidential Initiative "alliance and Development", chaired by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of higher education and scientific research, to discuss the objectives of the initiative, its role in supporting projects that serve the national economy, converting research outputs into manufactured products, internationalizing the initiative by expanding international partnerships to obtain the greatest possible benefit in the implementation of Alliance projects, and ways to activate the executive procedures of the initiative and priority projects.
- Within the framework of Assiut University's efforts to support its students with disabilities and provide integrated services to its children with disabilities, the report referred to the University's participation in the "Tamkeen" initiative implemented by the Ministry of higher education and scientific research, in cooperation with the global "donors of Hope" campaign; to raise awareness of the rights and duties of students with disabilities within Egyptian universities, and provide equal opportunities for them, through organizing a number of activities, trainings and workshops; to develop the skills of people with disabilities, which was implemented by the Center for students with disabilities at the university; under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla the vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Umniah Abdulkader, director of the center, and Dr. Jamal Al-Sawy, managing director of the center.
- The University's efforts also included the participation of prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy in the closing events of the first edition of the initiative "empowering university students with determination", which was held under the supervision of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, president of the Republic, at the maritime monastery "Hatshepsut temple" in Luxor, in the presence of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of higher education and scientific research, a number of Ministers, Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of universities, a number of university presidents, senior public figures, and in the presence of (562) students.
- Within the framework of the University's participation in the Presidential Initiative "lifeboats", the University held an awareness seminar entitled: "The dangers of illegal immigration", under the auspices of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, president of the Republic, and with the support of Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptians abroad, during which Ambassador Nabil Habshi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptians abroad, and ambassador Naila Gabr, chairman of the National Coordinating Committee to combat and prevent illegal immigration and human trafficking, which aimed at reducing the phenomenon of illegal immigration, raising awareness of its risks, and and ways of safe migration, opening a dialogue with students, and introducing them to positive alternatives such as training, job opportunities, and entrepreneurship, which contributes to supporting their skills, raising their capabilities, and linking them to the labor market.
- The report continued that Assiut University launched the activities of the "100 Sports Days" initiative, which it organized in cooperation with the Egyptian sports federation for universities, under the auspices of Dr. Mohammed Ayman Ashour, Minister of higher education and scientific research, to enhance students ' involvement in sports activities, and prepare a conscious generation, capable of facing the challenges of the present and the future.
- The report revealed that the University won two positions in the third cycle of the national initiative for smart green projects at the governorate level: (Assiut, the New Valley, and the Red Sea); as it is one of the leading initiatives in the field of sustainable development, smart, dealing with the environmental dimension, and the effects of climate change; to achieve sustainable development; within the vision of Egypt 2030, and the implementation of the national strategy for climate change etc.
- The report showed the University's participation in the launch of the "Together" initiative ... We plant a green future", which was launched by Cemex Egypt-Assiut cement - to plant (700) tree of the "Kaya" type in the first stage; on Assiut Road – New Valley (Assiut International Airport Road), within the scope of the factory fence; which was aimed at countering climate change, global warming; through planting trees that have a fruitful and effective yield to contribute to the expansion of green spaces, which comes within the framework of intensive national efforts under the auspices of His Excellency the president of the Republic; to achieve sustainable development goals by preserving the environment, taking into account the rights of future generations, implementing national climate change strategy.
- The report explained the University's keenness to participate in the Presidential Initiative "Hayah karima", where a comprehensive medical convoy was organized to the AL - qusayya Center in Assiut in cooperation with the Foundation "a decent life"; to provide therapeutic services for more than (580) the case of Al - qusayya center residents in the specialties of internal diseases - Chest Diseases – urology-skin and genital- bediatrics; in order to provide sustainable development support to rural communities, improve the quality of life, enhance the role of education and training in human building, as well as encouraging community cooperation and volunteer work among university students.
- The College of computers and information, in cooperation with the Hayah Karima Foundation and the Ministry of communications and Information Technology, organized the "technology Ambassadors initiative" events to prepare digital knowledge cadres from university students, and the initiative included intensive training in various fields including: raising digital awareness, digital transformation, cybersecurity, protection from cyberbullying, in addition to a set of practical applications that enhance the skills of participants and prepare them to face the challenges of the digital age.
