As part of its community role and its support for religious and cultural activities, Assiut University, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, participated in an iftar and religious evening ceremony at Assiut Center's Issawiya village on Friday, March 21, to honor the winners of the fourth edition of the Sheikh Abdul Moez Mohammed Farhat prize for memorizing the Holy Quran.
The evening witnessed the presence of Major General Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, governor of Assiut, engineer Yasser Omar, undersecretary of the plan and Budget Committee of the House of Representatives and Secretary of the future homeland party in Assiut, Dr. Mahmoud Saad Jahin, undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf, advisor Osama Abdul Moez Mohammed Farhat, deputy chairman of the court of Cassation, several executives, religious and judicial governorate leaders, members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, the media.
Assiut University participated in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla, vice president of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Doib Saber, dean of the Faculty of Law and legal adviser to the president of the University, and a selection of university faculty members.
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, stressed the importance of these religious competitions in encouraging young generations to memorize the Holy Quran, explaining that the competition in memorizing the book of Allah is one of the finest forms of competition, and contributes to the dissemination of the teachings of the Holy Quran and the promotion of Islamic morality in society.
He added that the university is keen to support such initiatives that contribute to building a good generation adhering to its religious and moral values, thanking and appreciating the organizers of the competition, and calling for the continuation of such events annually.
Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla, vice president of Assiut University for Education and Student Affairs, stressed that such competitions enhance the spiritual relationship of participants with the book of Allah, and help improve recitation skills and proficiency in the provisions of Tajweed, expressing his happiness to be among the keepers of the book of Allah.
The evening witnessed the honoring of the winners of the Sheikh Abdul Moez Mohammed Farhat prize for memorizing the Holy Quran, where certificates of appreciation and valuable material prizes were distributed to the winners of the first three places in the competitions of memorizing the whole, half and quarter of the Quran, in addition to the AL-baraem competition for memorizing three parts and one part of the Holy Quran.
The winners of the advisor Abdul Rahim Al-Fil award for Dew sounds (Psalms of David) and the Hadith memorization competition (forty Nuclear) were also honored in recognition of their efforts in reciting the book of Allah and memorizing it according to the correct rulings.
