Under the supervision of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, president of the Republic, the fourth edition of the Egyptian-European summit for youth media leaders witnessed a distinguished participation from the media department at the Faculty of Arts at Assiut University, which was organized by the Ministry of youth and sports at the shark camp in Ismailia governorate, under the supervision of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of youth and sports, and coordinated by Professor Karim Adel, general coordinator of youth media projects and initiatives at the Ministry of youth and sports.
The participation of the media department at the Faculty of Arts, Assiut University, comes under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, and under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Mawla, vice president for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Magdy Alwan, dean of the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Mohammed Abu Rahab, vice dean of the Faculty of Arts for education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Rahab Al-Dakhli, head of the media department and media advisor to the president of the University.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of youth and sports, explained that the summit in its fourth edition represented a successful model for investing in the energies of young people, noting that this edition witnessed various discussions on digital media, national security, and Crisis Management, which contributes to qualify Egyptian and European youth to participate in the development of the media scene.
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, stressed that the participation of the University's youth in the Egyptian-European summit for youth media leadership reflects the University's keenness to prepare conscious media cadres capable of facing challenges, praising the leading role of the Ministry of youth and sports in organizing this summit, which has become a leading platform for development and media education for young people.
The summit was attended by a representative of Assiut University, Mr. Mustafa Abdel Gawad, assistant lecturer at the media department at the Faculty of Arts, and student Azzedine Abdel Fattah in the third division of the media department, where the activities of the summit stretched over a whole week, including field visits to national institutions, including the Naval Academy, the police academy, the administrative capital, and the Ministry of Interior. The program also included lectures and workshops on media issues, national security, and combating rumors.
The media department's participation in the third edition of the youth creative media industries exhibition came as one of the most prominent activities, where the Department presented various media projects, including TV and radio programs, documentaries, podcasts, and advertising campaigns, and Assiut University students ' projects were highlighted, including the magazine "Sot" and"University Echo" for journalism specialization, the project "Bedaya" and"Assiut is changing" for public relations specialization, and the project "Jude" and"Room 108" for radio and television specialization.
The summit concluded its activities by honoring the participants by the minister of youth and sports, stressing that it will continue to be organized in the coming years to support the capabilities of youth media and enhance cooperation between Egypt and the participating European countries.
