Dr. El-Minshawy: Assiut University is an active partner in the March of the New Republic and achieving the goals of the June 30 Revolution

In light of the unprecedented achievements witnessed in Egypt after the Glorious Revolution of June 30, which redrawn the map of development in the homeland, Assiut University was at the forefront of educational institutions that strengthened its national and community role, through its active participation in various presidential initiatives, to provide a role model in serving the Egyptian citizen and achieving sustainable development.

Within the framework of supporting the state's efforts for health care, the University participated strongly in the "100 million health" initiative by organizing expanded campaigns on campus, most notably the "100 days of health" campaign in September 2023, which targeted the early detection of chronic diseases, such as pressure, diabetes and liver diseases, and extended its services to hundreds of students and employees.

The university also witnessed the organization of awareness seminars on the importance of early screening, especially for the detection of colon and cervical tumors, with the transfer of pathological cases to university hospitals to complete treatment.

The University continued its support for the Presidential Initiative for the early detection of breast cancer, organizing the campaign "rest assured.. We are with you " in cooperation with the University oncology hospital, to provide free examinations to more than 400 female faculty members and workers, and refer cases that need further examinations to the Specialized Hospital.

In an innovative step, the university organized medical convoys to detect lung, prostate, colon and cervical tumors, targeting all university employees, to enhance health awareness and early detection.

The University's hands extended to the villages and centers of Assiut through comprehensive medical convoys, which targeted the treatment of hundreds, the provision of free medicines, and the transfer of critical cases to University Hospitals. The convoys also included extensive veterinary, agricultural and nursing services, in cooperation with the faculties of veterinary medicine, agriculture and nursing, contributing to the development of villages and improving the quality of life.

The University's role was not limited to the service aspect only, but also extended to awareness and volunteering, as it launched an introductory outlet inside the campus to introduce students to the initiative, in addition to blood donation campaigns, and training programs such as "Value" to enhance youth skills in community work.

The University participated in the "Bidaya" initiative to build the Egyptian human being, through medical, veterinary and psychological convoys, and programs to support women and people of determination, which included more than 11,500 direct beneficiaries, 62 events inside the University and 21 outside, as well as awareness workshops on combating corruption, cybercrimes, and community values.

The University held a major awareness seminar on the dangers of illegal migration and safe migration routes, with the participation of senior diplomats and experts, to enhance the awareness of young people and open new horizons for safe opportunities.

The "alliance and development"initiative

The university has strengthened its role in supporting the national economy through its participation in the alliance of Universities of central Upper Egypt, led by its president, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, to support the integration between scientific research and industry, and transform ideas into realistic products that contribute to comprehensive development.

In response to the initiative of His Excellency the president of the Republic, the University carried out extensive afforestation campaigns on campus to plant hundreds of fruit trees and ornamental plants, and launched the "hangjamla" initiative to plant 1000 trees in cooperation with the foundation for Sustainable Development.

In a qualitative awareness-raising step, the university organized environmental seminars and exhibitions, to encourage positive environmental behavior among students, addressed the issues of sustainable agriculture, climate change, and Water Resources.

The university launched the "Together Towards a sustainable green University" campaign to spread environmental awareness and provide innovative solutions to deal with climate change, focusing on waste management, renewable energy and smart agriculture.

The University's role in supporting its students with disabilities has emerged through its participation in the "Tamkeen" initiative, which witnessed intensive awareness and training activities within the university to enhance the skills of people of determination, under the supervision of the Center for students with disabilities care.

The university also participated in the closing ceremony of the initiative in Luxor, in the presence of state leaders and university presidents, to confirm its full commitment to integrating people of determination and providing the best means of support for them.

These initiatives are a vivid witness to the profound impact of the June 30 revolution in opening new horizons for Community Development and social justice, and Assiut University has embodied this national role, through its outstanding contributions in supporting presidential initiatives in various fields, to remain a key partner in building the New Republic, and an example of the National University committed to its community mission.
