Dr. Mohammed Ayman Ashour, Minister of higher education and scientific research, issued Ministerial Decision No.596 dated 17 March 2025, to include Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, as the president of Assiut University, and Dr. Maryam Abdul-Malik Al-Qoms, a teacher at the Faculty of law at Assiut University and a member of the House of Representatives, to the board of Trustees of Assiut National University.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy expressed his deep thanks to the minister of higher education for this precious trust, praising the important role played by private universities in providing advanced educational services that meet the needs of society and keep pace with global developments in the field of Higher Education.

Dr. El-Minshawy also expressed his deep gratitude to the political leadership for its continuous support for the development of the higher education system, stressing the state's interest in strengthening the role of private universities in providing outstanding education that contributes to preparing cadres capable of facing future challenges and contributing to achieving sustainable development.

Dr. El-Minshawy stressed the importance of private universities, explaining that they contribute to the development of academic programs, which contributes to the graduation of qualified cadres that meet the requirements of the labor market.

It is noteworthy that the decision is effective as of the day following the date of its issuance, and comes within the framework of efforts to develop the administrative structure of the board of Trustees of Assiut Al-Ahlia University, which was formed in accordance with Ministerial Decision No.2809 for  year 2023.
