Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the university organized on Monday evening, March 17, a major celebration to commemorate the victories of the glorious tenth of Ramadan, coinciding with the martyr's Day, March 9. The ceremony was attended by Major General Dr. Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, governor of Assiut, Major General of the war staff Sayed Radwan, assistant commander of the Southern Military Region for crises, Dr. Mansour Kabash, president of Sphinx University, Dr. Mohammed Abdul Malik, Vice President of Al-Azhar University for the tribal face, Anba Yanes, Bishop of Assiut and its affiliates, as well as a group of security, religious and executive leaders.
At the beginning of the celebration, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, welcomed the attendees, expressing his happiness with the presence of national leaders on this occasion. He stressed that the celebration aims to strengthen the spirit of patriotism and inspire the heroism of the Egyptian Armed Forces, which have written epics of sacrifice and redemption. He also congratulated His Excellency President Sisi on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of Ramadan and martyr's day, noting that this anniversary remains a milestone in the modern history of Egypt.
The president of Assiut University also congratulated the attendees on the anniversary of the great Badr invasion, stressing that Ramadan carries faith values that contribute to strengthening patience, determination and perseverance, which are the values that inspired the heroes of the tenth of Ramadan. He explained that these victories remain inspiring stations for future generations, calling on students to be inspired by them in building their future and working for the uplift of the homeland.
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy praised the efforts of the Egyptian state led by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in supporting the Palestinian brothers through the provision of humanitarian assistance and the implementation of reconstruction projects in Gaza, stressing that Egypt spares no effort to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians, believing in its historical and humanitarian role in supporting the Palestinian people.
Dr. El-Minshawy renewed the pledge that Assiut University will continue its role in supporting young people and enabling them to acquire the necessary skills to keep abreast of global developments, stressing that the university will always remain a platform for science and patriotism, and loyal soldiers in the service of our beloved Egypt.
For his side, Major General Dr. Hisham Abu Al-Nasser, governor of Assiut, expressed his great pride in attending this ceremony at Assiut University, stressing that the university is a scientific and educational beacon with a prominent national role in promoting the values of loyalty and belonging among young people.
The governor of Assiut added that the University's celebration of the tenth anniversary of Ramadan is a true expression of the highest values of sacrifice, redemption, construction and hope, pointing out that the Egyptian Armed Forces have played a vital role in Egypt's modern history, both in war and in achieving development and stability. The governor extended a heartfelt greeting and appreciation to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi for his sincere efforts in maintaining Egyptian and Arab security and defending the Palestinian cause. He also paid tribute to the hero martyr Mohammed Anwar Sadat, who was a man of war and peace, and to the heroes of the Armed Forces who captured the epic of victory with their smart blood.
Dr. Mohammed Abdel Malik, Vice President of Al-Azhar University for the tribal face, stressed that the October victory was a turning point in the history of the nation, as it showed the strength of Egyptian military planning, and embodied the values of sacrifice and courage. He added that this victory is a lesson for future generations to be the shield and Sword of the nation, the source of its security and stability.
He also pointed out that President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is making great efforts to protect the homeland and the stability of the Arab region, rejecting all plans aimed at displacing Palestinians from their lands.
Anba Yanes, Bishop of Assiut and its affiliates, expressed his appreciation to Assiut University for organizing this national celebration, stressing that Egypt has been and will continue to be a model of national unity and cohesion between Muslims and Christians, as they are united by love for the homeland and work for it.
He pointed out that Egypt is a great country with an ancient civilization and an honorable history, a blessed land visited by the prophets, where the Holy Family lived, and it has always been a land of goodness, tolerance and love, praising the efforts exerted by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi in preserving the unity of the homeland, fighting sectarian strife, and consolidating the concepts of citizenship.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Alim, vice president of the University for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president of the University for graduate studies and research, Dr. Madiha Darwish, dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and general supervisor of student activities, Dr. Mohammed Adawi, advisor to the president of the University for alumni affairs, entrepreneurship and innovation, Dr. Rehab the supervisor of the Olympic Village, deans of colleges, faculty members, Dr. Khalaf Ali Ammar, Director General of advocacy and religious media and chairman of the Fatwa Committee at Al-Azhar al-Sharif in Assiut, along with representatives of Al-Azhar University, the Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic and Christian clerics, media and press, and a number of religious, executive, security and military leaders in Assiut Governorate, in addition to the academic and administrative leaders of Assiut University.
The ceremony witnessed the presentation of national singing and religious songs to the National Anthem team and the University Choir, led by Maestro Talaat Al-Bakri, which added a distinct national atmosphere to the ceremony.
At the end of the ceremony, a number of symbols of the armed forces were honored in recognition of their role in protecting the homeland and contributing to achieving security, stability and development.
